Commi.nidahion from First National Bank,Sanford was read showing that they have placed with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Ga. U.S.Liberty Bonds, #15205 #15207,415208, #15211 and 415212 for .010,000 each as security to the Bond Trustees for funds deposited in the name of the Bond Trustees of the City of Sanford Commissioner Forrest Lake moved that the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract to purchase an Incinerator Plant from the Jones Odorless,Garbage Crematory Co. of St. Louis , at a price of $15,000.00 on the following terms: $1,500.00 on acceptance of contract, $1,500.00 on deliv- ery, and three notes $44000.00 each, at one -two -and three years time f 6% Interest and that the City Atty. in counsel with the Manager draw contract for same. w, 140tion duly seconded and passed. On motion duly seconded same was accepted and the Auditor & Clerk instructed to write a letter expressing appreciation of his services by the City Commission. Commislleh.6r-Fdrrast Lake offered the following resolution: RESOLUTION Resolution appointing Municipal Judge for the City of Sanford, Florida. WHEREAS, Section 38, Chapter 8361, of the Laws 69 Florida, provides for a Muni - Cipal Court of the City of 6anford, Florida, and provides that a Municipal Judge shall be appointed by the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, who shall hold office during the pleasure of the said City Commission, and , 17HEREAS, this is an emergency measure necessary for the usual daily 9peration of R the City Government of the City of Sanford. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF S-INFORD,, FLORIDa AS FOLLO17S : SECTION 1 That J G Sharon be and he is hereby appointed Municipal Judge of the City of Sanford, Florida. SECTION 2, That the said Municipal Judge hold office and serve during the pleasure of the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida. SECTION 3, That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the usual daily operation of the City Government of the City of Sanford, and shall take effect drom and after the date of its passage. On motion duly seconded the Auditor & Clerk was instructed to file with the Seminole Abstract Co. for record a list of all outstanding paving and sidewalk lier_so' not - already recorded on their books. The following resolution was offered: RESOLUTION �4 y do - Resolution authorizing and directing the City Manager to enter into a con- tract with the Finley Method Company of Jacksonville, Florida, for re- surfacing seven feet in width of the paving on French Ave. from Ninth Street to Hughey St. and on Goldsboro St. from its. intersection with French Ave. and extending west 4525 feet to public road running to Upsala in the City of aanford, according to Plans and specifications approved by and on file with the Board of County Com- missioners of Seminole County, Florida, for re- surfacing nine feet in width of the aforesaid street and avenue. VIIHEREAS, the portion of French Avenue beginning at Ninth Street and extending South 3820 ft. to Hughey St., and that portion of Goldsboro St. beginning at French Ave. and extending west 4525 ft. to Public road running to Upsala, which was here- tofore paved by the City of Sanford, Florida, now requires re- surfacing in order to preserve it and make a permanent job of the work heretofore done on said Street and Avenue; and, WHEims, the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, deems it necessary- expedient, and to the best interest to the City of Sanford, that the' '7 ft. of pav- ing heretofore laid on the aforesaid portions of French Avenue and Goldsboro St. be re- surfaced, and; WHEREAS, the Finley Method Company of Jacksonville, Florida has contracted with the County Commissioners of the County of Seminole and State of Florida for re-surfac- ing 9 feet in width of the aforesaid French Avenue and Goldsboro St, between the points named, and have filed with the said Board of County Commissioners plans and specifications, and have entered into a conrtact with the said Board of County Com- missioners for re- surfacing 9 feet in width of the aforesaid street and avenue be- tween the points named, and, Rol . 0 m WHEREAS, the Engineer for the City of Sanford, Florida has inspected and approved the plans and specifications filed with the said Board of County Commissioners, and has recommended the adoption of said plans and specifica- tions and that a contract be entered into with the said Finley Method Company by the City to re- surface the 7feet in width on Goldsboro Street and French Ave. between the points aforesaid at the price agreed to by the County Commissioners for re- surfacing the 9 feet between the said points, according to said plans and specifications, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COI!vIISSION OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the said Finley Method Company of Jacksonville, Florida, to re- surface 7 feet in width of French Avenue beginning at Ninth St, and extending south 3820 feet to Hughey St., and 7 feet in width of Goldsboro St. beginning at French Ave. and extending west 4525 feet to the Public Road run- ning to Upsala in the City of Sanford, Florida, at the same prive agreed to be paid by the County Commissioners of Seminole County, Flo_- �rida, for the re -sur- facing to be done for the said County on said Street and avenue between the points hawed, and according to the plans and specifications filed with the Board of County Commissioners of Seminole County Florida, and approved by the Eng\Ueer in charge of public improvements for the City of Sanford, Florida. On motion duly seconded and carried the City Auditor & Clerk as Ex- Officio Tax Assessor was authorized to make a.flat raise of 18% on 1922 Assessment on all Real Estate on which the Valuation has not been fixed by the Equalizing Board,k and to assess all property at the rate of 18 Mills for the year 1922. On motion duly seconded -and carried the following cancellations of 1921 Taxes on Personal Property were authorized; owing-to error in assessment.
