Present: Commissioner Forrest Lake ( Mayor) Commissioners S O Chase, & C J Marshall City Manager , W.B.Williams, City Engineer, F.T.Williams. Meeting called to consider bids on paving contracts and other matters of special business. Bids of Hutton Engineering & Contracting Co. of Savannah, Ga., Sheet Asphalt Combination Curb and Gutter ( Stone Foundation) ...... .....................111,546.65 Adams- Evans Co, of Jacksonville Fla., on same.. ......... ......... 114.,772-00 After consideration, it was moved by Commissioner S 0 Chase, seconded by t om- missioner S J X&vshall and passed unanimously that the contract be awarded to the Hutton Engineering & Contracting Co. in the amount of $111,546.65, on the following streets as advertised: SECOND STREET­( Oak to French ) THIRD STREET ( Sanford to Magnolia ) and ( Oak to Avaoado) AVACADO AVENUE ( First St. to Third St.) FIFTH ST. (ffiagnolia to Myrtle ) NINTH STREET ( Cypress to Park ) THIRTEENTH ST. ( Sanford to French )CENTRAL STREET ( Sanford to French ) PALMETTO AVENUE ( Central to Hughey) and ( Commercial to Lake Monroe � OAK AVENUE ( Tenth to Thirteenth) LAUREL AVENUE ( Sixth to Thirteenth St.) and the City Manager was authorized to execute contract for the City. On motion duly seconded and passed the City Manager was authorized to decorate the City for the Meeting of.the Spanish War Veterans.at an expense not to exceed $75.00. The Auditor & Clerk was instructed to write the Southern Utilities Co. to have 6'inch, water mains placed under Palmetto, Magnolia , Myrtle , Elm, Oak and Laurel Avenues at Thirteenth Street at once in order to be ready for paving on said Street and avenues.
