052624`V 7E REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION MONDAY May 26, 1924. Present: Commissioners Forrest Lake( Mayor), SO Chase and C J Marshall¢ City Manager, W B Williams,; City Engineer, Fred T Williams; City Attorney George A DeCottes. Minutes of last regular meeting read and approved . Communisation from Southern Utilities Co. read and filed. Communication from Hutton Engineering Co. Re; Their paving account with the City read and the Clerk was instructed to reply to same ( See files for letter of even date) The Commission then proceeded as an Equalizing Board to hear complaints as to the paving of the following Streets: Park Ave. from Tenth St. to Hughey Street. Highland St. from Park Ave. to Fr -ensh Ave. Mr F L Miller same before the Commission and objested to the widening of Park Ave. as he considered the street good enough as it is. There being no further objections the assessments on above named streets were confirmed. Petition from property oimers on Eleventh St. between .Park Ave. and FrenAh Ave. requesting that said street be not paved at this time was read and the Engineer was instructed to leave this street out for the present. Petition from property owners on Evans Street requesting that same be powed from Park Ave. to Elm Ave., and the Engineer was instrusted to proseed at ones on assessment from Magnolia Ave. to Elm Ave. Mr W C Hill came before the Commission requesting a permit for laying side track across Twelfth St. between Holly and Cedar Avenues and on motion same was granted. On motion Commissioner C J Marshall, and seconded by Commissioner S 0 Chase and carried, the City Manager was instructed to notify Mr F L Miller to remove.barn now encroaching on Orange'Street near Park Ave. Communication from City Planning Commission Re: Taxes as to residence property read and filed. On motion duly seconded and passed, it was ordered that the action of the Commission as shown in minutes of March 24th. Re: using Lake Asphalt on certain streets be rescinded as to Park Ave. from Tenth St. to Hughey St. and on Ninth St. from Oak Ave. to A C L R.R. Tracks.
