092324ADJOURNED SESSION OF THE CITY COMMISSION SEPTEMBER 23, 1924 at 12 M. The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in Adjourned Session on the 23 day of September A.D.1924, at 12 O'Clook M:. at the City Hall at Sanford Florida, for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the bond election held 4n the City of Sanford, Florida, on the 22nd day of September A.D.1924 present Commissioners, Forrest bake, and C J Marshall Absent: Commissioner 3 0 Chase. The City Commission then proceeded to canvass the'returno.of the bond election held on September 22nd 1924 for the approval or rejection of Ordinance #81, of the City of Sanford, Florida, entitled: "An ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, in the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars for Municipal Purposes, the proceeds derived from the sal thereof to be used to purchase and acquire the necessary lands for a Municipal Ceme- tery and to improve and develop the lands so purchased to make the same adaptable for the purpose aforesaid." Ordinance #82, of the City of Sanford, Florida, entitled, "An Ordinance providing .for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, in the Sum of One Hundred Thousand Dollars for Municipal Purposes, the proceeds derived from the sale thereof to be used for the purpose of opening, grading, curbing , paving and improving certain streets and public thoroughfares, in the City of Sanford., Flori Ordinance #83, of the City of Sanford, Florida, entitled. "An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, in the sum of One Hundred Sixty Five Thousand Dollars for Municipal Purposes, the proceeds derived from the sale thereof to be used to enlarge , improve and extend the sewerage system of the City of Sanford, Florida," and Ordinance #84 of the City of Sanford, Florida, entitled:, "An �rdinanoe Providing for an issue off@ bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, in the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars, the prooeeds-to be derived from the sale thereof to be used to build and equip a Municipal Jail." and to determine the question whether bonds to the amount of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00 Dollars bearing interest at the rate of Five and One Half (5j%) per oentum, interest payable semi - annually, said bonds to mature thirty years from the date of the issuano thereof, should be issued by the City of Sanford, Florida, as stated and set forth in Ordinance loo. 81, to determine the question whether bonds to the amount of one Hundr d Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars, bearing interest at the rate of Five and One -half . " per centrum per annum, interest payable semi - annually, said bonds to mature thirty years from the date of the issuance thereof, should be issued by the City of Sanford, as stated and set forth in Ordinance Mo. 82, to determine the question whether bonds to to l he amount of One Hundred and Sixty Five Thousand ($165,000.00) Dollars, bearing Per centum interest at . the rate of Five and One -half (5- *) /peT Annum interest payable sem i•• annually, said bonds to mature thirty years from the date of the issuance thereof should be issued by the City of Sanford, Florida, as stated,and set forth in Ordinano do A N6.83; and to determine the question whether bonds to the mount of Fifty Thousand ($50,000.00) Dollars , bearing interest at the rate of five and one -half (5K per centum per annum, interest payable semi- annually, said bonds to mature /thirty years from the date of the issuance thereof, should Us issued by the City of Sanford, Florida as stated.and set forth in Ordinance No. 84, and from the canvass of the said returns found the result of said election to be as Sollows: The number of votes cast by freeholders voting for the approval of Ordinance No.81, and for the issuance of bonds in the Sum of $10,000.00 ----- - - - - -- -256 votes. Total number of votes cast by freeholders and qualified voters not freeholders, for the approval of Ordinance NO-83, and for the issuance of bonds in the sum of' $165,400.00 -- - - -330 voter, Total number of votes cast by freeholders and qualified voters not freeholders against the approval of Ordinance No. 83, and against the issuance of bonds in the sum of $165,000.00 - - -- - -79 votes. Total number of votes cast by freeholders and qualified voters not freehold@ against the approval of Ordinance NO. 84, and against the issuance of bonds in the sum, of $50,000.00 -- - - - - -- 87 votes. Whereupon, the following order and resolution was duly passed and adopted. Whereas, the raturns of the election ordered to be held on the 22nd day of Septem or, A.D.1924, in the City of Sanford, Florida, for the approval of rejection of that oertain ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, to -wit: Ordinance No.81 entitled: "An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Samford Florid in the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars, for Municipal Purposes, the proceeds derived front the sale thereof to be used to purchase and acquire the necessary lands for the Comet* and to improve and develop the lands 80 purchased to make the same adaptable to the Purpose aforesaid." s 0 n and to determine the question as to whether bonds should be issued by the City of Sanford, Florida, to the amount of $104000.00 bearing interest at the rate of five axn and -half per oentum(5j%) per annum, interest payable semi- annually, said bonds to matmns Thirty yeate from the date of the issuance thereof, f6r the purposes set forth in said Ordinance 80. 81, have been made to this Commission by the Inspectors of said Election, and Whereas, said returns have been duly canvassed by said commission, and the canvass of said returns shows 321 votes to have been cast for the approval of said Ordinance, and for the issuance of said bonds, and 91, votes to have.been cast against the approval of said ordinance, and against the issuance of said bonds, and Whereas, upon a complete canvass of said returns it is found that a majority of 230 ,votes were oast in favor of said ordinance and in favor of the issuance of said bonds, therefore, , BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS COMMISSION, and it is so declared, that the result of said election held on the 22nd day of September A.D.1924, as aforesaid, shows that a majority Of voters participating in said election Voted in favor of that certain ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, to -wits Ordinance No. 81 entitled: "An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds bb the City of Sanford, Florid% in the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars, for Municipal Purposes, the proceeds derived from the sale thereof to be used to purchase and acquire the necessary lands for a Municipal Cemetery and to improve and develop the lands so purchased to make the same,adapt able for the' purpose aforesaid,M and for the issuance of bonds in the sum of $10,000.00 to be used for the purpose aforesaid and, Whereas, the returns of the @lotion ordered to be hdld on the 22nd day of September A D 1924s in the City of Sanford Florid4 for the approval or rejection of that certain Ardinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, to -wit: Ordinance NO.82, entitled: "An (Tdinance providing for an issue of bonds bb the City of • Sanford, Florida, in the sum of One Hundred Thousand Dollars, for Municipal Purposes, the proceeds derived from the sale thereof to be used for the purpose of opening, grading, curbing, paving and improving oer- tain streets and public thoroughfares in the City of Sanford, Florida,l and to determine the the question as to whether bonds should be issued by the City Of Sanford, Florida, to the amount of $100,000.00 Bearing interest at the rate of five and one -half per centum (5f%) per annum, interest payable semi - annually, said bonds to mature thirty years from the date of the issuance thereof, for the purposes set forth in Ordinance No.82, have been made to this Commission by the Inspectors aof said eleotion,ax Whereas, said returns have been duly canvassed, by said Commission and the canvass of_ „said returns shows 314 votes to have been cast for the approval of said Ordinance, and for the issuance of said bonds, and 98 votes to have been cast against the approval of said ordinance and against the issuanoe of said bonds, and Whereas, upon a complete canvass of said returns it is found that a majority of 216 votes were cast in favor of said ordinance and in favor of the issuance of said bondss t therefore, 824 B1 BE It $BSOLVED, BY THIS COMMISSION, and it is so declared, that the 'result of said election hold on the 22nd day of 'September A.D.1924, shows that a majority of voters participating in said election ,voted in favor.of that certain ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida., to-wit: Ordinance No.820 etmniled: • An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford; Florida, in the sum of One Hundred Thousand Dollars, for Municipal purposes, the proceeds, derived from the sale thereof to be used for the purpose of opening , grading, curbing; pav . ing and improving certain streets and public thoroughfares in the City of Sanford, Florida.* and for the issuance of bonds in the sum of $100,000.00 to be used for the purpose aforesaid, and, Whereas, the returns of the election ordered to be held on the 22nd day of Sept. A•D.1924, in the City of Sanford, Florida, -for the approval or rejeotion.of that certain Ordinance of the City of Sanford Florida, to -wit: ordinance No.83, entitle *An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds �y the City of Sanford, Florida in the sum of One Hundred Sixty "five Thousand Dollars, for #unieipal purposes, t proceeds derived from the sale thereof to be used�to enlarge, improve and extend, sewerage system of the City of Sanford, Florida,* and to determine the question as to whether bonds should be issued by the City of Sanford,' Florida, to the amount of $165,000.00 Bearing interest at the rate of five and one -half per oentuim (5J%) per annum, interest payable semi - annually, sai bonds to mature thirty years from the date of the issuance thereof, for the purpose set forth in said ordinance No. 83 have been made to this commission by the In- speotors of said Election, and, Whereas, said returns have been duly canvassed b* said Commission, and the Canvass of said returns shows 330 votes to.have been cast for the approval of said ordinance,.and for the issuance of said bonds, and 79 votes to have been. oast against the approval of said ordinance and against the issuance of said bonds and-, Whereas, upon a complete canvass of said returns it $4 found that a majori y of 251 votes were cast in favor of said ordinaw a and in favor of the issuance -0f slid bonds, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED UATHIS COMMISSION, AND it is so' declared, that the resul of said election held on the 22nd day of September A.D.1924, as aforesaid,' shows t at a majoritty of the voters participating in said election voted in favor of that cart in ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, to -wit: Ordinance #83, entitled.; *An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, I _ in the sum of One Hundred Sixty Five Thousand Dollars for Municipal purposes, the proceeds derived from the sale thereof to be used to enlarge, improve and extend th sewerage system of the City of Sanford, Florida,* and for the issuance of bonds in the sum of $165,000.Op U be used for the purpose aforesaid, and, Thereas, the returns of the election ordered to be held on the 22nd day of September A.D.1924, in the City of Sanford, Florida, for the approval of rejection of that certain ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, to -wit: Ordinance No.64 entitled: "An Ordinance providing for-an issue of bonds bb the City of Sanford, Florida, in the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars, the proceeds to be derived from the sale thereof to be used to build and equip a Municipal Jail." and to determine the question as to whether bonds should be issued by the City of Sanford Florida, to the amount of $50,000.00 bearing interest at the rate of five and one -half (5j %) per centum per annum, interest payable semi - annually, said bonds to mature thirty years from the date of the issuance thereof, for the purposes set forth in said ordinance No.s4, have been made to this Commission by the Inspectors of said election, and, Whereas, said returns have been duly canvassed by said Commission, and the canvass of said returns shows 322 votes to have been cast for the approval of said ordinance, and for the issuance of said bonds, and 87 votes to have been cast against the approval of said ordinance and against the issuance of said bonds, and, Whereas, upon a complete canvass of said returns it is found that a majority of 235 votes were cast in favor of said ordinance and in favor of the issuance of said bonds therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS COMMISSION, and it is so declared , that the result of said election held on the 22nd day of September A.D.1924, as aforesaid, shows that a majo� ity of the voters participating in said election voted in favor of that certain ordinance of the City of Sanford, Florida, to -wit: Ordinance No.84, entitled: "An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City ofSanford, Florida, in the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars, the proceeds to be derived from the sale thereof to be used to build and equip &.Municipal Jail and for the issuance of bonds in the sum of $50,000.00 to be used for the purpose afore- said.
