REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION`

Present: Commissioner Forrest Lake ( Mayor) and C J Marshall, City Manager W B
Williams, City Attorney George A De(%Ottes, City Engineer, Fred T Williams, Consulting
Engineer, Jos. E Craig.
Absent: Commissioner 8.0 Chase.
Minutes of last regular and adjourned meetings read and approved
Communication from G P Paxton, Fire Chief, requesting that salary of Robert William-
son be increased to $100.00 per month was read and on motion duly seconded and passed
It was ordered that said salary be fixed at $100.00 per month, beginning with November
lot. 1924, and the olerk was authorized to draw check for said additional sum.
Communication from Mr Edward Higgins of the Park Commission, appointing Lt Voorhes
as Golf Instructor at a salary of $100.00 per month beginning November 18th. 1924
was read and approved, and the Clerk instructed to pay same.
Resolutions Number 187- A,187- B,187 -C requiring the construction of sidewalk mn the
East side of Park Ave between Eleventh -and Twelfth Streets , were read in full.
Upon the reading of said resolutions the question was put upon the adoption =of same: Thost
voting-in-favor of the passage and adoption of said resolutions weae : Commissioners
Forrest Lake and C J Marshall ( Commissioner S 0 Chase , Absent) Those voting against
the passage and adoption of said resolution were Commissioners: None.
Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announeed that the City Commission
Of the City of Sanford, Florida, had unanimously passed and adopted that said resoluttons
Commissioner C J Marshall then introduced Resolution #1870 entitled:
*A Resolution requiring the widening, grading and paving of Tenth St. from Pecan Ave.
Went to Mulberry Ave and Olive Ave. from Tenth St. south to Goldsboro Street to a width
of 24 feet instead of 16 feet as heretofore authorized.*
and moved that same be adopted.
Thereupon said resolution was read in full. Upon the reading of said Resolution,
the question was put upon the adoption of same. Those voting in favor of the passage and
adoption.of said resolution were: Commissioners Forrest Lake and C J Marshall. ( Commissioner
S 0 Chase) Absent. Those voting against the passage and adoption of said resolution were
Commissioner None
Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commislpn announced that the City Commission
Of the City of Sanford, Florida had unanimously passed and adopted that certain resolution
entitled:
*A Resolution requiring the widening, grading and paving of Tenth St. from Pecan Ave.
west to Mulberry Ave. and Olive Ave. from Tenth St. south to Goldsboro St. to a width of
24 feet instead of 16 feet as heretofore authorised.*
On motion duly seconded and passed the City Attorney was authorized to take
steps to secure deed of easement for right -of -way for facilities across property of
Gertrude D Hart or to negotiate purchase of six foot strip of land across said tract, or
to bring condemnation proceedings to procure right of way across said land.

On notion duly seconded and passed Mr George A DeCottes was given permission to
construct a, sidewalk four feet in width abutting Lots Q to 660 Sanford Heights Inolusi
On Motion duly seconded and passed the city Engineer was authorized to proesedwith
preliminary steps for paving Oak Ave. from Hughey Street north .to Highland Street 24 ft.
in width. Also Martin Street from Sanford Ave to Park Ave.
On motion duly seconded and passed the Commission approved of plan submitted by
City Planning Commission as to *&M leading to Go2,,f Course as far as same &butte City
Limits along Hughey Street as per blue print submitted by City Planning Commission
On motion duly seconded and passed the Clerk was authorized to Cancel the following
personal. Taxes:
R Turner - 1924 Assessment 200.00 Taxes $3.60(Double Assessment) Said Randall
Turner had. no personal property in City Limits -in said year.

SORROW OF THE DEATH OF HONORABLE SCHELLE MAINES, PROSECUTING AT70RNEY
OF SEMINOLE COUNTY FLORIDA, 960 HERETOFORE HONORABLY SERVED THIS CITY FOR

A FULL TERM AS MUNICIPAL JUDGE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD FLORIDA, AND
WHEREAS, IN THE DEATH OF MR MAINES, THIS CITY AND COUNTY HAS LOST ONE
OF ITS FOREMOST CITIZENS, AND THE PEOPLE A FAITHFUL, FEARLESS AND CONSCI-

BE IT RESOLVED, THAT RE B0W IN HUMBLE SUBMISSION TO THE INSCRUTABLE

OF THE DECEASED, THAT THIS RESOLUTION' BE INSCRIBED ON A FULL PAGE OF THE
MINUTE BOOK OF THIS COMMISSION, AND,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE CLERK COMMUNICATE THIS RESOLUTION
