Minutes of last regular and special meetings read and approved.
Communications from H Wight Re: paving Fourteenth Street read and the City
Engineer was instructed to proceed with preliminary work for paving said Street from
Magnolia Ave. to Oak Ave.; Also Sixth street, west from Laurel Ave to Pecan Ave.
Holly and Maple Avenues from Fifth to Sixth Street; and Eleventh St. from French Ave.
to Holly Ave.; all to be asphalt pavement 24 feet in width,
Communication from City Planning Commission Rer A CL Ry. Co. removing track
on North Myrtle Ave. sto. was referred to City Attorney for action.
Communication from City Planning Commission Rat "J 0 Packard Plat "for Colored
Subdivision read and filed.
Communication from S 0 Chase Res A C L Crossings being flagged read, and
the Clerk was instructed to write Supt. T L Dumas, and request him to meet with the
City Commission at the next Regular meeting for the purpose of taking up this matter.
Communication read from SanLanta Investment Co. Re: paving certain streets
and the matter was referred to the City Engineer and a copy of Communication furnished
him by Clerk.
-Communication read from Chamber of Commerce Re: A C L R.R. crossing at
Ice Plant and filed, and the Clerk instructed to write the Chamber of Commerce.
The City Engineer was instructedto proceed with plans for additional
Paving adjacent to Athletic ribld on Mellonville Ave. and Celery Ave. for parking of
cars.
The City Engineer reported that the Hutton Engineering & Contracting Co.
have completed their work on contracts #1,2 and 3 on Street paving and same was accepted
and approved.
Commissioner C J Marshall intorduced Resolution #192, entitled:
" A Resolution providing for the' paving, re- paving , hard surfacing and re- hardsurfacing
Of Mellonville Ave. from Pace Lane North to the north Line of Mayfair, a width of 24 ft.
and moved that same be adopted.
Thereupon said resolution was read in fill. Upon the reading of said reso-
lution the question was put upon the adoption of same. Those voting in favor of the
Passage and adoption of said resolution were: Commissioners Forrest Lake and C J Marshall
S 0 Chase , Absent) Those voting against the passage and adoption of said Resolution
Were Commissioners: None.
Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Com -=
mission of the City of Sanford, Florida had unanimously passed and adopted that certain
resolution #192 entitled.:
"A Resolution providing for the paving, re- paving, hard surfacing and re -hard surfacing
of Mellonville Ave. from Pace Lane north to the north line of Mayfair, a width of 24 ft."

surfacing of First Street from Sanford Avenue east to San Carlos Ave. a width of
52 feet-"
and moved that same be adopted.
Thereupon said resolution was read in fall. Upon the .reading of said resolution
the question was put upon the adoption of same. Those voting in favor of the passage
and adoption of said resolution were® Commissioner Forrest Lake and C J Marshall.

Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission annourn ad that the City Commission
of the City of Sanford, Florida had unanimously passed and adopted that certain reso-
lution entitled:
" A Resolution providing for the paving, re- paving, hard surfacing and re -hard surfac
of First Street from Sanford Ave. east to San Carolos Ave. a width of 52 .feet."
Commissioner C J Marshall,then introduced Resolution #194, entitled:
, "A Resolution providing for the paving, re- paving, hard surfacing and re -hard surfacing
of First Street from San Carlos Ave east to Mellonville Ave. a width Of 32 feet."
and moved that same be adopted.
Thereupon said resolution was read in fall. Upon the reading of said resolution
the question was put upon the adoption of same. Those voting in favor of the passage and
adoption of said resolution were; Commissioners Forrest Lake and C J Marshall.
Those voting against the passage and adoption of said resolution were: Commissioners
None.
Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commissio
of the-City of Sanford, had unanimously passed and adopted that certain resolution Number
194, entitled:
"A Resolution providing for the paving, re- paving , hard surfacing and re -hard surfacing
Of First Street from San Carlos Ave. east to Mellonville Ave., a width of 32 feet.
The Clerk was authorised to cancel Personal Taxes for 1924 assessed against
Carrie Bennett , amount $4.50. It appearing that she did not have this property in the
City for said year.
On motion duly seconded and passed,the Sanford Herald was designated as the
newspaper in whioh the Tax Roll shall be published for 19 �5•
The construction of the asphalt pavement on,, the following streets having
been completed and duly inspected by the Commission, and the City Engineer having made
his reports that the improvement of said portions of the following streets had been
made in strict conformity with plans and specifications therefor on file in the office
of the City Clerk, and the final estimates having been prepared and submitted by the
Assessor, showing the actual cost of said pavements, chargeable to all property abutting
upon said portions of the following streets:
Eighth Street - From Sanford Avenue to French Avenue
Franklin St. - From Sanford Ave. to Park Ave.
Highland St.. From Park Ave. to French Ave.
Sanford Ave. - From Geneva Ave to Franklin.Street.

City Engineer presented the following Plats which were approved by the City

Reports of Cleric and City Manager for month of February read and approved.
Mr. T. L. Dumas, Supt. A. C. L. Ry. Co., came before the Commission and a!
due discussion Re: First Street Crossing, Mr. Dumas requested the City to have the
City Attorney write him.a letter stating the City's position and requirements and
.that he would then take the matter up with his Oompany.. As to the Thirteenth Street
,Crossing to Goldsboro, air. Duets agreed to have all trains and engines oome to full
.stop before Crossing said Street and have flag precede each train or engine over the
Crossing, requesting that the City Clerk writs him a letter to that effect.
Oommunioation from Fire Chief, G. P. Paxton, re purchase of a oar for his
Department use and re salary of Maok Cleveland read and action deferred.
The hour having arrived F opening bids on the construction of City Jail
%di#* appearing that the Specifications as advertised had been in a restri4lAteffraL
it was ordered that all bids be returned unopened and that the City Manager re- adver-
time for bids without such restriction.
At the request of the Library Board, Mr. J. G. Sharon, was appointed to fill
vacancy on said Board,
The following Sidewalk resolutions were duly $x9dWaed by Commissioner
Resolutions #195- A,195- B,195 -0, 195-D- and 195 -E requiring the construction of
sidewalks along the.north side of Evans Street adjacent to Lots 17,18,19,20 and 21
Sanford Heights, and Resolutions #195 -F requiring the construction of sidewalk
along the north Stde of Tenth St. adjacent to Lot 10, Blk 11 Tr. 4, and #195 -G,
195 -M and #195 -I adjacent to E 1/2 of Lot 1 Blk 12 Tr. 4, W 1/2. of Lot 1 Blk 12 Tr.
:4 and lot 6 Blk 12 Tr. 4 , and-said resolutions were read in full.

* AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF SANFORDP FLORIDA, TO ANNEX CERT.
TERRITORY TO THE PRESENT CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SANFORD' FLORIDA.*
and moved that safiie be placed upon its first reading and read in full. Said motion pre-
vailed by unanimous vote of the City Commission. Thereupon, said ordinance was placed
ujon its first reading and read in lull. Thereupon, Commissioner S. 0. Chase moved tha
the rules be waived and said ordinance be placed upon i *s second reading and final
pas*mge,.whioh motion was duly seconded. The question was then put upon a waiver of the
rules and the Roll was called upon a waiver of the rules. Those voting'in favor of the
waiver of the rules were: Commissioners Forrest Lake, S. d, Chase and "C. J. Marshall.
Those voting against the waiver of the rules were Commissioners: None.
thereupon, the question recurred upon the motion to place said ordinance upon its seconi
reading and final passage, which motion prevailed by the unanimous vote of the,City

by unanimous vote had passed and adopted that certain ordinance entitled:

The Commission then proceeded as an Equalizing Board to hear complaints or
objections as to the proposed paving of the following Streets in the City of Sanford,
