042725REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION' MONDAY APRIL 27, 1925 at 2:30 P.M. There being no quorum present the Meeting was adjourned, to meet Tuesday April 29, 1925 at 11. A.M. Mayor Attest: City Clerk. ADJOURNED REGULAR SESSION OF THE CITY COMMISSION TUESDAY APRIL 29, at 11 A.M. The City Commission met in adjourned session Tuesday April 29th. 1925, at 11 A.M. Present: Commissioners Forrest Lake, ( Mayor) C J Marshall and S 0 Chase. City Manager, W B Williams, City Attorney George A DeCottes, and City Engineer, Fred T Williams. Minutes of last regular meeting read and approved. Petition from property owners in Buena Vista Estates requesting�ag -e! a part of Celery Ave. Montezuma Ave, Elliott Ave., Douglass Ave. and Summerlim avenue be paved and suitably severed and drained was read and on motion duly sec and passed, the City Engineer was instructed to proceed with preliminary work. On motion duly seconded and passed the City Engineer was instructed to proceed wi preliminary work on the extension of Park Ave. from Franklin St. to Geneva St. Communication from Sanford Chamber of Commerce Re: purchasing electric light plant was read and Mr E A Douglass and Mr A P Connelly appeared before the Commission as a committee from the Chamber and urged immediate action in the matter. The City Commission assured the Committee that they were proceeding as rapidly as possible under existing circumstances. Communication from Bel -Air Realty Cc Re: paving streets with Finley Method process was read and referred to the City Engineer Communication from Bodwell Realty Co. Re: paving with Finley Method certain streets in "Dreamwold" was read and referred to the City Engineer to proceed with preliminary work. Also Re: laying gas mains in Dreamwold was read and filed. On motion duly seconded and passed the City Manager was authorized to advertise 'for bids on East side Bulkhead construction. On motion duly seconded and passed the City Clerk was authorized to cancel the 192+ taxes against 7 feet in center of Lot 65 Blk K. Chappell's Subdiv. ---550 Same having been acquired by the City from the Sou. Utilities Co. for w &ter pipe line. Also to cancel 1924 taxes to the amount of $1000.00 valuation on Lot 8 Blk 141r. 4 owing to error in valuation - amount of taxes - - -- $l$.00 and to instruct the Clerk of Circuit Court to cancel of record tax certif. #26 for 1915 taxes owing to defectite description in said certificate, amount - - -- $22.40 Commissioner C J Marshall introduced Ordinance #95, entitled: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE PRESENT CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SANFORD FLORIDA. AYD MOVED THAT SAME BE PLACED UPON ITS FIRST READiN` AND READ IN FULL. Said motion prevailed by unanimous vote of the City Commission. Thereupon the said ordinance was placed upon its first reading and read in full. Thereupon Commissioner Marshall moved that the rules be waived and s &id ordinance be placed upon its second reading and final passage, which motion was duly seconded. Those voting favor of the waiver of the rules were:Commissi.oners Forrest Lake S 0 Chase and C J Marshall. Those voting against the waiver of the rules were Commissioners: None. Thereupon the question recurred upon the motion to place said ordinance upon its second reading and final passage, which motion. prevailed by the unanimous vote of the City Commission. Thereupon said ordinance was placed upon its second reading and read in full. Upon the reading of said ordinance the roll was called upon the question of the 6doption of said ordinance. Those voting in favor* of the final passage and adoption of said ordinance were: Commissioner Forrest Lake, S 0 Chase and C J Marshall. Those voting against the pas- sage and adoption of said ordinance were Commissioners None. Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford Florida, had unanimously passed and adopted that certain ord- immoe #95, entitled: Air Ordinance annexing certain territory to the present corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida."
