Communication from the Ely Dredging Co. Re: Bill for dredging was read and
referred to the,Clty Engineer for estimate on work.
The City Clerk presented a tentative budget for the year 1925 -26, and same
was taken under consideration.
Reports of the City Manager and City Clerk for the month of June were read
accepted and ordered filed.
Commissioner S 0 Chase introduced Ordinance #96, entitled:
" An Ordinano a providing for the vacating and closing of that certain alley running
east and west through a portion of block Two Tier one, according to E R Trafford's Map
of Sanford, Florida.*
and moved that the same be placed upon its first reading and read in full. Said motion
prevailed by unanimous vote of the City Commission. Thereupon said ordinance was placed
upon its first reading and read in full.
Thereupon Commissioner S 0 Chase moved that the rules be waived and said ordinance
be placed upon its second reading and final passage, which motion duly seconded.
The question was then put on a waiver of the rules and the roll was called upon a waiver
of the rules, Those voting in favor of the waiver of the rules were:
Commissioners Forrest Lake, S 0 Chase and C J Marshall. Those voting against the waiver
of the rules were Commissioners None.
Thereupon the question recurred upon the motion to,plaos said ordinance upon its
second reading and final passage, which motion prevailed by the unanimous vote of the
City Commission.
Thereupon said ordinance was placed upon its second reading and read in full. Upon
the reading of said ordinance the reading of, said ordinance, the roll was called upon
the question of the adoption of same.
Those voting in favor of the adoption of said ordinance were, Commissioners Forrest
Lake S 0 Chase and C J Marshall. Those voting against the passage and adoption of said
Ordinance were Commissioners None.
Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida
announced that the City Commission had unanimously passed and adopted that certain ordi-
nance numbered 96 entitled.
"An ordinance providing for the vacation and closing of that certain alley running east

be placed upon its second reading and final passage, which motion was duly seconded.

of Union Ave. from SanfOarlos Ave. to Mellonville Ave. a width of 24 feet."
Thereupon Commissioner 8 0 Chase introduced Resolution #227, entitled:
A Resolution providing for the paving, re- paving, hard surfacing and re -hard surfacing
of Calory Ave. from Mellonville Ave. to Summerlin Ave. a width of 32 feet."
and, moved that same be adopted, Said motion being duly seconded, prevailed by the unanimous
vote of the City Commission. Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that
the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida had unanimously passed and adopted
that certain resoltuion entitled:
A Resol4itlon providing for the paving, re- paving, hard surfacing and re -hard surfacing
of Celery Ave. from Mellonville Ave. to San Carlos Ave., a width of 24 feet."

vote passed and adopted that oertain'resolution #2320 entitled:
"A Resolution providing for the paving, re- paving , hard surfacing and re -hard surfaoing
of MmgUkdu Street and Elliott Street from Montezuma Ave. to A C L. Railroad, a width
of 18 feet.*.
Oh motion dply seconded and passed, the City Manager was authorized to secure
right of way for Spurling Street from Park Ave. west to Lake Ave.., and to open and
grade same.
On motion duly passed the City Attorney was instructed to institute proceedings
to condemn old buildings on Lots i and 2 Blk 1, Chapman & Tuoerk Additiom.'
On motion duly passed the Hutton Construction Co. was instructed to proceed with
grading and paving East First Street beginning at Mellonvills Ave. and proceeding west.
Communication from City Attorney Re:Beautif ication Ordin annoe was read and filed.
Communication from Secretary of Library Board was read and filed.
Petition from property owners on Myrtle Ave. between Thirteenth St. and High St*
requesting that same be paved, was read and approved subject to right of way for same
.,being given by the property owners.
The Clerk was authorized to cancel the 1924 Personal Tax Against the 'following:
