011027-Regular SessionCITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA.. miNutes January 10 1927 at 2:30 P.M. City Commission met in regular session Jan lOth 1927 at 2:30 P.M. Present: Commissioners Forrest Lake (Mayor) S 0 Chase and E F Housholder City Manager W.B.Williams, City Attorney , George A DeCottes, and City Engineer Fred T Williams. Minutes of last regular and annual meetings read and approved. Communications from Higgins-Smith & Wight Corp.~ purchase by the City of cert~iu lands, was read and referred to the City Manager and City Engineer. for investigation and report. City Engineer submitted Plat of "Renaud's Addition" and same was approved. Reports of the City Manager and the City Clerk for month of December 1926 were submitted, accepted and ordered filed. Commissioner S 0 Chase then introduced ~esolutiom ~334-A to 334-02 requiring construction of sidewalk on the north side of Thirteenth St. from Sanford Ave. to the new Colored High School near Roosevelt Ave. and resolutions ~334--D2 to 334-_ requiring construction of sidewalk on the south side of Seminole Boulevard from Park Ave. to the American Legion Hut. and moved that same be adopted. Said motion was duly seconded~, and unanimously passed by the City Commission. The Nayor announced that the hour had arrived for opening bids on street paving contracts and the following bids were then and there opened and read: ~l Hutton Construction Company. ( Enclosing certified check for $8,500.00) ~2 Deen & Yarborough & Eberbach Construction Co. ( Enclosing check for $4,000.00 and $6,000.00) ~3 Interstate Construction Co. Bid on sewers. (Enclosing check for $2,000.00 All bids were then referred to the City Engineer to tabulate, and report at a meeting to be held Tuesday, January ll, 1927. at 12 O~Clock noon. On motion duly adopted the Clerk was authorized to cancel the following taxes on the 1926 Tax Roll. Lot 2 Blk 5, Chapman & Tucke= Addn. Valuation 31,250.00 Taxes 468.?5 Same should be ....................... " Amount taxes to be cancelled ................. 28,125.00 " ~21.85 Upon motion duly adopted the Playground Commission was authorized to install playground equipment in Park fronting the Grammar school , at an expense not to exceed $4oo.oo.
