Mr i~ F Robinson came before the Commission relative to Bulkhead Assessment against his property on the east side, asking relief of a part was instructed to re-check the matter and ascertain if Robinson. of the costs. ~ne City Engineer an injustice had been done Mr. Mr 0 P Herndon came before the Commission relative to 1926 Taxes on property of the "Elks ]lub" stating that the income from s~ue is used for benevolent purposes only. On motion duly adopted the Clerk was instructed to cancel the 1926 taxes on this property. Communication fr~m Mr Frank MacNeill Re: extension of water mains for fire pro- tection on the west side of the City was read and the City Manager was instructed to aecertain the cost of necessary extension and report the same to the City Commission. Doctors S.Puleston and R E Stevens and Zr A P Connelly came before the Commission relative to expediting the plans and erection of the new Hospital, and the Co~nission assured them of hearty co-operation in the matter. Mr W K Smith came before the Com~ission in the interest of the Forth entertain- ments and requested the assistance of the City in meeting the deficit in receipts to cover the expense of sm~ne, and on motion duly adopted the Clerk was authorized to issue checks to Mr Smith to cover such deficit on presentation of bills for same duly approved by the City ~anager. Co~nunication from the City Planning Con=~ission approving the plan of numbering east and west streets was read and filed. City Engineer submitted Plat of Victoria Park, and on motion duly adopted s~ue was approved. Comnunication from property owners in Pinehurst Subdivision requesting that paving on street from a point on Hughey St. 2794 ft. west of French Ave extending west to Atlantic Coast Line Track be laid with six inch rock base and two inch asphalt top, ~nd agreeing to pay full Oost of same was read and on motion duly adopted the City Engineer was instructed to conform to this request. Communication from Zachary-Tyler Veneer Co. requesting paving of certain streets was read and the Clerk was instructed to write said Company to get petition from property owners on said streets asking for said paving to be done and the City Co~mmission will then consider same. Communication from Miller & Erickson Re? purchase of Lots ! and 2 of Section A, Evergreen Municipal Cemetery for the purpose of erecting a building for tools and equi~- merit was read and on motion duly adopted the Clerk was instructed to inform Messrs ~iller & Erickson that they can purchase said lots for the said purpose. Co~mnunication from Playground Committee requesting appropriation of $70.00 to buy base ball suits for one team of boys in the west side playgrounds, and on motion duly adopted same was granted. All receipts theref.rom to be deposited with the City Collector and all expenditures and pay rolls to be paid through the City Office, and the following Committee was appointed to handle the matter: Mr Floyd A Palmer, Chairman Mr H R Stevens. Mr ~ C Hill Mr G W Spencer Sr. D~r A B Wallace. The Chairman of this Committee is hereby authorized to make the necessary purchases and expenditures subject to the approval of the City Manager and to approve all bills and pay rolls before same are submitted to the City for Payment. On motion duly adopted the Clerk was authorized to cancel 1926 Personal Taxes. E. H PiChard- .8.00 on furniture, it appearing that he had no furniture in the C~ty. On motion duly adopted the Sanford Herald was designated as the newspaper in which the Delinquent Tax List shall be published for the 1926 Tax Roll. Reports of the City Manager and City Clerk for January were submitted, approved and ordered filed. ~ On motion duly adopted it was agreed that when the City of Sanford Shall have constructed a street pavement on Park Avenue abutting Lots 17 and 19 of Lane's Addition to Sanford as per Plat thereof duly recorded in the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida, no special assess~ ment will be entered or imposed by the City of Sanford agai~t said lots, in consideration of Deed for right-of-way for State Road No. 3 to be given the City of Sanford Florida by Mary Elizabeth Williams and husband, Volie A ~illi~ms. The following bills were read, approved and the Clerk authorized to draw checks to pay same. The meeting then adjourned to meet Tuesday, February 15th at ll.4~.A.M. Mayor Attest: City Clerk.
