The City Commission of the City of Sanford met in Special Session ,Saturday
September 24th at 2 :30 P M at the City Hall.
Present: Commissioner E F Housholder, Mayor

City Clerk, L R Philips.
Mr R 0 Meriwether came before the Commission with reference to the 1927
Assessment against Lot S Blk Y, St Gertrude Addition to Sanford , and requested that
a reduction be made in same. After careful consideration the Assessor was instructed to
reduce the valuation of said Lot 8 Blk Y St Gertrude Addn. from ;15,000.00 to $10,000.00
c The complaints of Mr F L Woodruff as to 1927 assessment on the following property
was taken up-
Lots 4 and 5 Blk 9 Tr. 7
Lot 10 Blk 4 Tr.
S 62 Ft. of Lot 7 and all- of Lot S Blk 4 Tr. 6
Lots 6,7,9 Blk 9 Tier 7
Lot 1 Blk 2 Tier 4
Lod 9 Blk 6 Tier 1
Lot 7 Blk 6 Tier 6
All property south of cemetery in Sec. 2 Tp. 20 R-'130
After careful gonsideration and compatison with other property in same vicinity
the Assessment was declared to be in line with same and no reduction was made
Mr F L Woodruff as.to all Lots in M M Smith's Sub of Blk A.
After careful consideration the Assessor was instructed to reduce the assessment on said
Lots now assessed to Mr Woodruff 25%. Same being Lots 56 to 71 and 77 to 103 .
As to S 4.Ft. of N 1/2 of Lot .4 Blk 3 Tr. 1. After careful consideration the Assessor
was instructed to reduce this assessment from $1,575.00 to $1.250.00
The City Manager requested instructions as to making an allowance to Dr. Baker
City Food Inspector, for gasoline used in his eary,and after consideration it was ordered
that Dr. Baker's Salary be increased from $83.33 to $85.00 per month to take care of this
expense. ,
On motion by Commissioner S 0 Chase and seconded by Commissioner W C Hill, and
unanimWasly adopted the City Manager was authorized to waive the amount of deposit on
two gas meters at the School Lunch Room
On motion by Commissioner S 0 Chase and seconded by Commissioner W C Hill
and unanimously, adopted the Clerk was instructed to notify Chief.of Police, Mr Roy G Williams
Lieutenant Police, A H Beckwith; Patrolman 3 B Green and Desk Sergeant , S L Smart that the
City Commission have decided to dispense with their services in the Police Department
of the City as of the First day of October 1927.°
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
