The City Commission of the City of Sanford Florida met
the City Hall at Sanford Florida at Two O'Clock P M October 24th.

Minutes of last regular meeting read a~d approved.
City Manager , W B Williams requested i~tructions as to removing certain old
houses, and on motion duly adopted the Manager was instructed to take up the matter
with the City Attorney.
The matter of the hydraulic fill in the West Side Bulkhead District , from
where the work is now complted by the County to present reclaimed bulkhead district
was discussed, and on motion duly adopted the Action of the Sanford Chamber of Commerce
appointirg as a Committee , Mr S R Dighton, Mr R J Holly and Mr 0 P Swope ~ investigate
this matte~, was confirmed and the City Clerk was instructed to write the Chamber,of
Commerce ~nd request that this Committee proceed at once to investigate the matter and
to take it up with Mr Hathaway, Chairman of State Road Department, and if possible get
him to visit Sanford ~nd Confer with the Cha~nber and the City Officials in the matter.
~e Clerk was also instructed to send the Chamber a copy of ~r DeCottes' letter to the
Commission on this subjeot.m
On motion duly adopted the City Engineer was instructed to proceed at once
to make up final estimates on all work completed on the West Side Bulkhead by the
Globe Dredging Company.
Co~unication from Mr W B Williams, submitting his resignation as City Man~ger
effective January l, 1928 was re~d, accepted and filed.
The matter of eliminating the "No. left turn" regulation at the intersection
of Magnolia Ave and First Street was discussed and referred to the Chief of Police for
investigation and recommendation. Upon recom~nendation of Commissioner W C Hill it was
ordered that street signs in the school district be m~de to read "Slow down to fifteen
miles oer hour" and at all railroad crossings to read "Slow down - Railroad"
Also the City Manager was instructed to place metal stop signs at the intersection of
Park Ave. and Ninth St.; Thirteenth St.; Hughey St. and Geneva St.; and at other important
crossings in down town district; also to desigData Thirteenth Street as a through street
except at the crossing of Park Ave.
On motion duly adopted it was agreed to adopt the tentative budget as submitted
and to fix the rate of assessment at 25 mills on the dollar for 1927 taxes; and thmt the
Commission will meet Wednesday, October 26th for the purpose of adopting the appropriation
Ordinance and the tax levy for 1927.
Messrs. Hall & Pentland submitted statement of receipts and disbursements
Bond Trustees cash August 1st to October 15th. Same was accepted and filed.
