Minutes of regular meetings of January 11 and 24, and adjourned meetin~ of February 1,1943 next read and approved. On motion of Commissioner Bishop, seconded by Commissioner Hill and carried the Clerk and City Attorney were next authorized access to safety deposit box No.177 at the Sanford Atlantic National Bank for the purpose of securing two '¢;ater Plant Revenue Certificates due March 1,1943, said certiJicates owned by the insurance Fund as an investment. Application next received from ~.~rs. ~Ianning for permit to rc~love three sv;eet gum trees from the parkway in trent cz' t±~e Sinclair Service Station at 712 Park Ave. and on recommendation of Supt. ]~.~oughton, same was approved. In connection with interest due L',arch 1,1943, on Series A and B. Refundin5 Bonds dated ~.~arcn 1,193~, and Series C,D and E. P_efundin5 Bonds dated k-arch 1, 1941, and on advice of the Clerk that sufficient funds are on hand for the purpose, Commissioner Bishop next moved that the Clerk be sA~tizorized to transmit to the Central Hanover Bank & Trust Company, L'ew York City, £und~in amount sufficient to pay interest coupons due i,iarc~ 1,1943, on the outstanding Series A.B.C.D and E. Refunding Bonds. Seconded sy Commissioner }{ill and carried. Request next received i'ro~.] students of Seminole High School that the City place aa advertisement in the 1942-1943 issue of the Salmagundi as has been done in previous years, and on motion duly carried, a one-fourl~page advertisement was authorized at a cost of $12.00. On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried, the Co~ission next authorized the Series A Bonds Nos. 4919/4928, counpons attached, at a price ReGuest next received from purchase from Duval County, Florida, with counpons due September !, 1943, of $380.00 per bond. the Florida Florida,met in regular session at the City o'clock p.M. February 22, 19~3. of 10 Refunding and subseeuent State Bank of Sanford that two or three parking spaces be marked off and reserved for "10 minute parking" in front of their building, and same was referred to Chief of Police Williams. Communication next read from R~ymond K.Uebster, Westport, Conn. enclosing five old bond coupons in amount of $2~.50 each that were due January 1,1929, detached from City of Sanford General Term Series "00" Bonds Nos. 201/205, and requesting payment of same. Said bonds having been purchased and canceled by the City on September 21,1934. The Clerk next reported that ~;rS. partly burned dwelling house located on presented annual Fire report for the year ending such report showing number of ~ires, cause of Fires, class of amount o£ losses etc., and same was read by the Clerk and ordered J.E.Williams had demolished and removed the Lot lO Block 14 Tier 5, E.R.Trafford's Nap, which was condemned by Resolution No. 637, passed and adopted by the City Co~mmission at the meeting of October 12,1942. On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Bishop and carried, the Commission next authorized the salary of police officer George Haskins increased from $120.00 to $135.00 per month, ei'fective as of February 1,1943, and the salary of police officer Roy Tillis increased from $141.O0 to $145.00 per month, effective as of February 16,1943. Request next received From ~rs. Lucile Clements for an adjustment of the assessed valuation in amount of $8OO.O0 for year 1942 on the personal property in her apartment house at 712 Park Ave., claiming that she should have received the Constitutional Exemption on the apartment she was occupying as her home. Thereupon after careful consideration, and on reco~mnendation of the Tax Assessor Commissioner Gut moved that the assessed valuation in amount of $800.00 for year 19~2 against the personal property of the Clements' Apartments be adjusted to Seconded by Co~missioner Lodge and carried. The Clerk next reported that the Federal Works A~ency is receiving bids to be opened at the City Hall on February 24th. for the construction of the Recreation Building in Fort ~ellon Park, and bids to be opened in Jacksonville on March 2nd. for the construction of the City's Waterworks Project. The Clerk next reported that the Federal Farm Security Administration has employed approximately a dozen local laborers to assist with the construction of the Mobile Labor Camp in Sanford, and has reeues~he City to advance funds to said employees until such tithe they receive tneir wage checks from the Federal Gcvernment, stating that the Farm Security Administration had authorized and instructed all checks for the aforesaid employees to be mailed to the City Hall so as to protect the City from loss o£ any Funds advanced. Thereupon on motion duly adopted , the Clerk was authorized to advance funds to the aforesaid employees off ti~e Federal Farm Security Administration in accordance with the procedure outlined above.
