Meeting called to order by the Chairman. of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned regular Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The roll was called and the vote stands as follows: Commissioner HiEgins Aye " Bi shop Aye " Gut Aye " Hill Aye " Lodge Aye Thereupon the Chairman announced ths t the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, by unanimous vote had passed and adopted said Ordinance No. 334, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA DEFINING VAGRANCY IN SAID CITY AND DECLARING THE SAME TO BE A MISDEMEANOR AND PBESCR~BINH A PENALTY THEREFOR. On motion duly adopted, Ordinance No. 334 was next ordered POSTED at the front door of the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, in accordance with the terms cf the Charter, as amended. On motion of Commissioner Hill, seconded by Commission Gut and carried,instructions were next issued to advertise notice of intention to present Bills for passage by the 1943 Session of the Legislature ae follows: ' To establish a pension fund for the Police Department of the City of Sanford, Florida; requiring monthly contributions to be made by members of the department to said fund and providing for the levy and collection of certain cost to be paid by persons convicted in the Munici~al Court to be de~oeited in said fund; and providing for a Board of Trustees to administer said fund.' "To cancel unnaid State and County taxes against the following described property owned by the City of Sanford and used for municipal ~ur~oses, to-wit: Fractional Block 8 of Tiers 9 and 10 Trafford's Mac of Sanford. All ( Less B W 1/It of Block 6 Tier 13 " # ' Commissioner Hill next introduced Ordinance No. 334, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA DEFINING VAGRANCY IN SAID CITY AND DECLARING THE SAME TO BE A MISDEMEANOR AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY THEREFOR. AND SAME WAS BEAD IN FULL BY THE GLEBE. Thereupon Commissioner Hill moved that the rules be waived and said Ordinance No. 334 be placed on its final passage and adoption. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge. Thereupon the question recurred upon the waivure of the rules, the roll was called MINUTES City COMMISSION SANFORD FLOR DA A~rtl 14~ J~; ?:3o P M 19 ~] I The Clerk next ~resented an itemized statement of bugetary revenues and e~- oendttures for the first six months of the 1942-19~3 fiscal year, and same was given careful study by the Commission. Consideration was next given to the matter of increasing the wages and salaries of emnloyees so as to off-set the increased cost of living during the cast several months. Thereupon after careful consideration, Commissioner ~ishop moved that the wages and salaries of all City employees be increased lO percent, effective as of April 1,1943. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and earried. The Clerk next renorted that a number of sanitary completely stooned up with tree roots and sand, and that and storm sewers are almost the City does not h~.ve the proper tools and equipment for cleaning them out, stating that he had obtained catalogs and price list from manufacturers of sewer rod equipment, which was presented for consld- eration by the Board, as follows: Turbine Sewer Machine Company, Milwaukee, Wis. W.H.Stewart Comnany, Jacksonville, Florida. Flexible Sewer-Rod Equipment Co, Los Angeles, Calif. Tax Collector Ellen Hoy was next instructed to hold the 1942 Tax Sale on the let. day of July 1943. On motion duly carried, the Commission next authorized a telephone installed in the northeast corner of the Municipal Court Room for use by the Shore Patrolmen from the U.S.Naval Air Station at Sanford. Consider~tion was next given Bar Association and presented to the in which complaints were to the Resolution adooted by the Seminole County City Commission at its regular meeting of Anril 12,1945, registered against the operation of the Municioal Court of the City of Sanford, and recommended the anpointment of a licensed attorney-at-law, practic- ing in the City of Sanford, Florida, as Municinal Judge of said Court. Thereugon the Mayor was authorized to request the Federal Works Agency to allow the contractor to erect the building fifteen feet farther back on the Droperty site than is spec~fied in the plans.
