Present:

in the City of Sanford, Florida, at l:~n o'clock P.M. November

Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that purpose of the meet-
ing was to consider the matter of emo!oylng Mr.W.T.Wol~e, traffic e×~ert of Jacksonville,
to make s survey of the existing freight rate structure on all commodities to and
from Sanford, with a view to eetabllshlng lowe~ rates, which will benefit every industry
in the community, statlnE t?m.t Mr. Wolfe has agreed to make such a survey at a cost not
to exceed $2,5aO.~O, with t~e assurance that lower rates can be established for Sanford.
Thereuoon after considerable discussion as to Mr. ~olfe's ability as e traffic
analyst, and after csrefu2 consideration on the matter, ~ommissioner Gut moved that the
Mayor be authorized to negotiate with Mr. ~olfe w)th reeoect to entering into an
agreement with the Cgty for making the survey of freiEht rates, and that the eat}re
Commission be aooointed as a Committee tc work in connection therewith, with
Commlssioner Bishop acting in the caoacity of Chairman of sald Committee.
Seconded by Commissioner Hill and carried.
Mayor Higgins next adv}sed tht Caotaln Massle Hughes, Commanding OYflcer of
the SanforO Navel Air Station has received orders to be transferred from Sanford within
the next few d~ys, and suggesteO that the City oresent him with a set of golf ~ticks in
' commemorattll~n~of his services to the community while in charge of the local Base.
Thereuoon on motion Ouly carried, sn exoendtture was authorized for the Outdoes o
ourchaslng the aforesaid gift for nresentation to Caotein Hughes.
On motion duly carried, the Clerk and B.C.Moore, Auditor of the f~rm of
Pentland,Gray and Moore, were next authorized access to the safety deoosit box at
the Sanford At~antlc National Bank for the nuroose ~ verifying its contents.
There being no further business the
meeting then a~journed.
