FOR CITY COMMISSIONER For W.C.Hill For H.E.Morris Total votes cast 49 votes 1 vote 5o Thereupon Commissioner Bishop moved that the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of the General Municipal Election held December ?,1943, be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried. Thereupon ~.C.Hill was certified as the regularly elected City Commissioner of the City of Sanford, Florida, for the three year term commencing with the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January , 1944. On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Bishop and carried, the Commission next authorized the oayment of $5.00 to each of the Inspectors and the Clerk of the General Munlclnal Election held on December ?,1943, after which the meeting adjourned. H.Cole, local manager of the Florida Power & Light Company, next submitted for further consideration by the Commission a proposed supplementary street lighting agreement to substitute their new "S" type street lighting rate schedules for the old "S" type schedules now in effect, whereby the City will receive approximately twenty-seven Der cent more illumination from street lights, at no additional cost by eliminating a number of the white way light fixtures and increasing the candlepower of the remaining lights. Thereupon after a careful study of the suoolementary street lighting agreement, for further Mr. Cole was authorized to make a demonstration of the proposed changes , consideration by the CommiSsion. Request next received from the Industrial Fibers Corporation to lease the City- owned property lying east of the Municipal Water Plant between the railroad and Fourteenth Street, for the purpose of drying fibers in connection with their processing and manufacturing plant located on the property adjacent theretO. Thereupon Commissioner Gu% moved that the City lease the aforesaid property to the Industrial Fibers Corporation and the Mayor and Clerk execute the following lease agreement on behalf of the City. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried. Made and entered into in triplicate as and of the day THIS AGREEMENT , of December,1943, between CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, a municipal corporation, ae party of the first part, and INDUSTRIAL FIBERS CORPORATION, a Florida corporation, as party of the second part, WITNEBBETH, THAT: WHEREAS, the natty of the second part is engaged in the processing and/or manufacturing of fibers on property owned by Harold Kastner on West Thirteenth Street, Banford, Florida, and requires additional soace for the orocessing and/or manufaCturing of fibers, and the City of Sanford, Florida, is the owner of that certain lot, piece or parcel of land immediately south of the aforesaid Kastner property and described as: Beginning 10 chains South of the Northwest Corner of the N.E. 1/4 of Section 36, Townshio 19 South, Range 30 East and run East 67© feet, North to Railroad Northwesterly along Railroad to French Avenue, South to Beginning, and the natty of the first part is willing for the catty of the second part to use the hereinafter described portion of its said property for the purpose aforesaid: NOW, THEREFORE, the said oarty of the first part and the party of the second part do, for and in consideration of the sum of One Dol]asr each to the other in hand ...... + .~ ~,h~.h t. hereby acknowledged, hereby covenant and agree to and MINUTES 1.
