Thereuoon City Attorney ~,~llson defined sa~.d 6hapter 17166, Acts of 1935 Legislature, re!attn,: to Civil Service for Police and Fire Denartraents, giving s detailed exolanation of the orocedure for enacting the law, creating s Civil Service Board, and the ooerstlons of the deosrtmentsunder said Board. Thereuoon after a lengthy discussion, and on advice of the City Attorney that the City has legal suthorlty to enact a law by ordln~nce creat~ng its m.m Civil Service System, it was the o~lnion of the Commission that it would be sdvlsable and for the best interest of the City to establish a Civil Service that would embrace all City employees ~nstead of only the co!Icemen and firemen, and on motion duly carrled, 01ty Attorney ~';ilson was directed to oreosre the necessary ordlnance creatlng ssld C~v~l Service for a]~ emoloyees, for further cnnslderat~on by the Board.
