The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned called
session at the City ~all in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 4:00 o'clock P.~.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Mr. H. Eschenbrenner, President of the Falmlngo Ooncrete Pipe Company, next
appeared with reference to exercising their option to purchase the City's concrete pipe
plant property under the terms of the lease agreement dated March 15,19~3, and offered a
price of $~,250.OO with rental payment due March 15,19~4, in amount of $~OO.O0 to be
applied toward said purchase price. The terms of the lease agreement required a rental
of $300.00 for the first year, $~O0.O0 for the second year and $500.00 for the third
~hird year, with option to Purchase during the three year term at a price of $5000.00
Thereupon after careful consideration, Commissioner Gut moved that the City
accept Mr. Eschenbrenner's offer to Purchase the concrete nipe D!ant property described

of Parts of Sections 26,27,3~ and 35, Township 19 Bouth, Range 30 East,# at a price
of $~,250.00 and allow the rental payment in amount of $~OO.OO due March 15,19~' to
be applied toward said purchase price, ~rovlded the o~tion to purchase is exercised
within 3o days.
Seconded by Commissioner Bishop and carried.
Consideration next given to the request of the firemen rot an increase in
salaries, which was presented to the Commission at the meeting of March 1~,
The Clerk then presented a comparative schedule of salaries pald to both firemen
and policemen by the cities of Bt. Augustine, Ocala, DeLand, and Palatka which have
similar populations to Sanford.
Thereupon after careful comparison of salaries paid hartford's firemen and
policemen' wlth those Daid by the aforesaid Florida cities, and on motion duly carried,
the Commission authorized the following adjustments of the monthly salaries of firemen
and policemen:

The City Commission of theCity of ~anford, Florida, met in adjourned session at
the City Hall in the0ity of Sanford, Florida, at7:30 O'clock P.M. March 23,194~.

Meetlng called to order by the ~hairman who announced that the ournose of the
meeting was to cofer with Mr. Geo. W.Blmons Jr. Municipal Planning Engineer, Jacksonville,
with further reference to zoning Sanford.
Mr. $1mons then outlined in detail the mechanics in conducting the necessary
studies and investigation Dreliminary and essential to the nreparation of the initial
zoning plan , the ore~aration of zoning maps, the drafting of zoning ordinance, the
presentations for apvroval to a Zoning ~ommiselon, and final approval of local citizens
thru public hearings; stating that his fee for rendering such service would be $15OO.OO
provided the City would furnish him an assistant as may be necessary to conduct the field
studies and investigations, and also the necessary maps showing lots and blocks at a
suitable, convenient scale on which the boundaries of the zones can be delineated.
Thereupon after considerable discussion, it was the opinion of the Commission that
it would be for the best interest for the future development of the City to have it zoned
nrior to any oost-war construction and Imnrovemente, which would also be for the bene~
fit of all oroperty owners, and on motion duly carried, the City Attorney was authorized to
preoare a performance contract to be entered into between the City and Mr. Bimons, cover-
ing his services for zoning Banford at a orice of $15~O.~O, in accordance with the terms
and conditions ae outlined above, for aooroval by the City Commission at the next
meeting.
