Aoollcation next received from George Thurston to renew the lease on the City's farm land for the ensuing year ending June ~o,!9~5, at sa~e rental of said orooerty being described as follows: Lots 2,4, and ~ o? Block X, Si.Gertrude Addition. THI~.A~E[~E~T, entered into between the United States Department o~ 'the nv~r~or, ~sn and ?ildlife Service ( Acting in and through the District Agent off the Fish and b~il~ife Service), hereinafter known as the "Service,, and the City Comnission of Saaford, Florida. , WITNE~::ETH, that, ~H~REAS the Service is authorized by the Act of Larch 2,1931, 46 Stat. 1~68, 7 u · S.Co~e, ~ection ~26, and by annual appropriations made by the Congress off the United States to control rodents and other injurious mammas, ~d ~'HERE~8, th~ Cooperators and authorized, in accordance with the permission off the ~ity Gommisoion, of the City of 'Oanford, Flori~ ~:~, to conduct ro~: nt control work for the control of rats, desires to carry on a project for the control of rats ~d have money available for the purpose, and, WHE~AS, it is the desire of the parties hereto to conduct such cooperative work in the most efficient and economical manner, ~ ~ ~ it is mutually agreed as follows: NOW, THeReFOr, 1. A pro,ram for the control of rats will be ~dertaken in San~ord, FlOrida, Seminole County, and all operations as provided for by this agreement shall be under the tecl~ical supervision of the Service, in order that the work conducted in 8anford, lor~da, may be in accordance with the latest imnroved practices and cor- F ' related with rodent control program carried on in sdJacen~ areas. 2. In order to ffacilitate the accomplishme~t of the o ~ ~ . roor~m off work contem- plated herein, a rodent control supervisor, recom~:ended and approved by the District A~ent el' the Service will be employed by the Cooperators at a salary of $2112.OO per ~num, payable by the Cooperators to direct the org'snization and suoervision of rodent control projects within the C~y of anford, Fl~rx~:a. In addition to the salary speciffied above the rodent control supervisor ~ill be f~iven a monthly gasoline allowance by the Cooperators. The rodent control suoervisor will work under the technical direction of the S~rv~ce's District Agent'amd the Administrative direction of the Cooperators. 3. The Cooperators will pay all costs of the program contemplated herein, including necessary labor, additional supervieion, bait, and other supplies in the total amount of approximately $5000.00, including the salary and travel expenses off the Rodent Control Supervisor refferred to above. ~. Consistent with available ffunds allocated by the Service, and consistent with other duties to be performed by the District Agent o~ the Service within his ~st~ct, the Service will provide the part-time service off its District A?jent to direct the technical phases of the program covered by this agreement. 5. The District Agent of the ~erv~ce and the rodent control supervisor shall consult ffreeuently with the designated representatives of the cooperators, to ~ormulate and agree upon clans or procedures necessary to best serve the interests of the parties hereto, including matters p rt~n~ to the employment of personnel and the purchase o: necessary eeuipment and supplies. 6. Cooperation may be had with amy agency, organization or individual interested in a position to participate, who may enter into agreement to apply the methods and systems covered by this agreement, and such cooperation shall augment the orogram herein c - on ~emplat ed. ~ The Rodent Control uperv~eor shall submit to the designated representatives off the Cooperators amd the District Age~t off the Service a detailed report at the end of each fiscal year, or at more frequent inZervals upon request of the parties of this agreement, w~icn report shall include the ~ollov~ing: (a) A complete finamcial statement showing all expenditures made in carrying out the project. (b) A summary off ffindings, needs for Future work and i~fformation interest and value to the pro[.fr~ off control.
