The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned
session at tile City Hall in the City o£ S~nford, Florics~ at 2:00 o'clock P.~.~.
June 15,1944.

~ljeeting called to order by the Chairma~ ~ho announced that the purpose of
the meeting was to confer with ~r. GeO.W.~imons Jr. ~unicipal Planning Engineer,
with reference to the preliminary surveys and investigations in connection with
Zoning the City, and also to appoi~t a Zoning Co~m]ission in accordance with the
provisions of Chapter 195~9, Acts of 1939 Legislature, the legislative authority
under wnic~ the City is bein~ zoned.
~.~r Simons then outlined in detail the assitance needed in making the
necessary field surveys a~id preparirb:.: preliminary maps to be fur~ished by the
City in accordance with the terms of his co~'tract.
Thereupon after considerable discussion, and on motion duly sdopted,
the Com~ission authorized the employment of , o
G...Paxton and Pcb Gut to assist
,.~mons with the preliminary work as outlined.
On motion of Co~missioner Gut, secended by Co~mia~ioner Bishop and carried,
