Streets, Sanitation, Hes]th, Water, Police, submitted and examined. revenues and exoendltures Fire, Library for the month of June 1944, during the oronerly reconciled, Communications next read from the Sanford Lions C%ub claiming that there are conditions being allowed to exist throughout the City that are detrimental to the public safe~y,morals and general welfare of the community, and requesting the Commission to take immediate action to correct it. Thereunon after considerable d~scus~lon, the Mayor was directed to write a letter to the Sanford Lions Chub and request that they be more exolicit in their charges because the request in the aforesaid letter is too Meneral to take o*ficial action. Communications next read from the Sanford Ministerial Association and the First Bsotist Church endorsing the orooosed ordinance to orohibit the sale of beer and wines on Sundays, Commending the City Commission for the action they have taken to regulate the sales of Intoxicatlng beverages, and recommending the ing of Juke organs within 3OO feet of churches during the hours of Mr. G.w. Soencer, Attorney, next aooesred on behalf of of beer and wines and registered a orotest sgalnst the oassage of to prohibit the sale of beer and wines on Sundays. On motion of Comm~ssioner Gut , seconded by Comm~ssioner Hill and carried, the Commission next authorized the emoloyment of B.A.Gnann and C.F.Godwln as firemen at a salary of $120.OO Der month, effective July 10,!94~. Request next received from the State Welfare Board for the City to nay one-h~lf of the monthly rental in amount of $5.00 for an additional room in the Meisch Building for their ~ocal office, and on motion duly adooted, same was authorized. The Chairman next advised that Mr. Victor Check h~d executed an endorsement reducing the festal from $~OO.OO ocr year to $150.OO ocr year for the second,third and fourth years on the property leased to the C~.ty and described in lease agreement dated June 1,~944, and that same had been attached to and made a oart of said lease agreement. On motion duly carried, the Comm~ssion next authorized the sale to Mrs. Emma Vlnlng of the S. 43 ft. of Lot 9 and N. Y ft of Lot 10 , Block ll Tier 9 Martin's Addition, at a orlce of $150.00. We recommend to the City Commission of Senford that they consider the advlsability of contacting Wesley Blntz, consulting engineer, of Lansing Mich., and engage him to visit Sanford for the ournose of making a survey of the facilities and site for the construction of a municioal swimming pool. RESOLUTION #2 We recommend to the City Commission of Sanford that they take necessary action to remove or have removed the oartially submerged river boat now located at tb~ West end of the Bt. John's River Line warehouse on Leks MonrOe; a!so request the St. John's River Line to have the oremises cleaned uo in the vicinity of their warehouse end garage. Thereupon after considerable discussion the Chairman was authorized to invite Mr. Wesley B~ntz, Consulting Engineer, to Sanford to meet w~th the City Commission eot the ouroose of considering construct~.ng the orooosed swimming cool in Mort Mellon Park under the clans and specifications of the "~intz Swimming Pool" designed and oatented by Mr. Bintz. The Chairman ne~t advised that he had already communicated with the officials of the Bt.Johns River Line Comoeny and they had agreed to send a crew of men to Sanford within the next week to clean uo their warehouses end oremises and also remove the submerged boat referred to in the aforesaid letter.
