Commissioner Hill next intorduced Ordinance No. 359, entitled: ORDINANCE NO. 359 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE 312 PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 12th DAY OF MAY, 19~l, AND ENTITLED" AN ORDINANCE LIMIT? ING THE NUMBER OF PER~ITS AND LICENSES THAT MAY BE GRANTED TO VENDORS OF THE BEVERAGES, EXCEPT WINES AND BEERS, DESCRIBED IN ORDINANCE NO. 256, PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, ON THE 2$th DAY OF JUNE,1937 AND PRESCRIBING A MINIMUM DISTANCE WHICH THE PLACES OF BUSINESS OF SUCH VENDOR SHALL BE FROM EACH OTHER, BUT EXCEPTING FROM THE OPERATION OF THIS ORDINANCE HOTELS HAVING TWENTY-FIVE (25) OR MORE ROOMS, AND PERMIT8 AND LICENSES HERETOFORE GRANTED." AND SAME WAS READ IN FULL BY THE CLERK. Thereupon Commissioner Bishop moved that the rules be waived and said Ordinance No. 359 Oe placed on its final passage and adoption. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge. Thereupon the question recurred upon the wsivure of the rules. City to advance the Seminole County Ganning Kitchen MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, October equipment, together with signed consent of all five members of the Public Projects Fund Committee epprovzng this advance to the Canning Kitchen. Said funds to be repaid to the City at such ~ime funds are available from the Canning Kitchen's appropriation from Seminole County, or other operating funds of the Canning Kitchen. Thereupon Commissioher ~ut moved that ~he City advance ~ne aforesaid sum of $713.55 to the Seminole County Canning Kitchen for the purpose o~ purchasing equipment, in accordance with terms anu conditions outlined above. Seconded by Commissioner ~ishop and carried. On motion of Commissioner Lodge, seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried, the Commission next authorized the purchase from ~'ederal Laooratories, Inc., Pittsburgh, Pa. of one H & R. Model 50 Reisin~ .~ cal. Sub-Machine Gun, complete with case end extra magazines, at a cost of $102.~0, Zor emergency purposes in t~e Police Department. City Attorney Wilson next suOmitted a lease agreement De,ween the City end the United States of America, prepared by the United States N~vy Department, covering lease of the City's old airport for Naval Training purposes in coanection wits the Sanford Naval Air Station. Thereupon, after careful study and consideration of the terms of ~ne lease agree- ment, Commissioner Gut moved ~ha~ it Oe approved and ~ne ~ayor and Clerk be authorized to execute same on be~al! cZ ~ne City. Application next received from Homer Little for permit to sell liquors, to De consumed off premises, at such time there is a vacancy, or at such time the population of osnford increases to such an extant so as to allow an additional permit and license under the provisions of Ordinance No. 359, which limits one permit end license to each 15OO persons in the City. Thereupon the aforesaid application wes oraered filed until such time there is a of permits that may be granted under the restrictions of Ordinance vacancy in the number No. 359. On advice of the extensions of street Clerk that the War Production Board has released materials for lights, Commissioner Hill next moved that the Florida Power a Light Company be authorized and instructed to install a 100 CP overhead bracket light at the intersection of Virginia Avenue snd Second Street, which was requested by Mr. George Thurston several months ago.
