Minutes of regular meeting of October 9, adjourned meetings of October 12, 16,18, regular meeting of October 23, and adjourned meeting of October 25, 1944, next read and approved. Current invoices and payrolls for the month of October 1944, properly audited and vouchered as evidenced by voucher Nos. payment authorized. Monthly reports pT streets, 72~1 thru 733~, submitted, examined , approved and ean~tation, health, water, and golf departments Financial of October, 1944 submitted and examined. Bank etatements in all accounts ~ubmitted and examined. at police, fire, library examined. for the month of October 19~, submitted and statement and statement of revenue and exoendltures during the month for the month ~ October 19;91~, nrooerly reconciled, Application next received from Larrle Burke for oermtt ~o sell beer and wines 1610 W. 13th St., and on recommendation of Chief of Police Williams, same was approved. Peoort of November analysis of milk from all dairies ooeratlng In Sanford, as prepared by Dr. L.R. Scrlbner's Laboratories at Orlando, all such milk within the requirements of Grade A Milk. Bids next received for furnishing 500 feat of next oresented, such report showing 2~ inch and 200 fee~ of 1~ inch multiple woven P-ply Munlcioal Fire hose for the Fire Department, as follows: ~ILL HARDWARE COMPANY 2~" Eureka Multex 2-ply Multiple Woven Hose at $1.10 per fi., less allowance of 07~ per ft. for old couplings. 1~" Eureka Le~der Line 2-nly Multlole Woven Hose at 75~ per ft., less allowance of 0~{ per ft. for old couollngs. Thereupon after careful consideration , and in view of no other bids having been received, Commissioner Lodge moved that the bid of Hill Hardware Company be accepted for furnishing 500 ft. of 2{" Eureka Multex 2-nly Multiple Woven Fire Hose at a price of $1.10 per ft., and 200 ft. of 1~" Eureka Leader Line 2-nly Multiple Woven Fire Hose at per ft. Seconded by Commls~ioner Gut and carried. Thereupon after considerable discussion, Commissioner Gut moved thet the City emoloy two laborers to assist the caretaker in cleaning uo the cemeteries and olaclng them in good condition. Thereuoon after a careful study of the aforesaid lease agreemen~, Commissioner Gut offered the following resolutions, which were unsnlmously adopted. Mayor RESOLVED, that Edward Higgine,/and N.N.$syer, C~ty Clerk, be and they are hereby authorized to execute and deliver to Union Oil Comoany of Ca~Ifornls, Houston, Texas, an oil, gs~ and mineral lease covering 167 acres of land, in Section 7, Township 20 South, Range ~l East, Seminole County, Florida, and for the considerations, terms and provisions as set out In ~aid lease. Seconded by Commiseloner Hill and carried. Commissioner Lodge next introduced Resoluticn No. 683 and after being read in full by the Clerk, moved its oas~age and adoption. Request next received from Mrs. Macle H.Hutchlnson for an adjustment of the assessed valuation for the year 1944 in amount of 1890.00 agatnst lots 4 and 5, Block 12, Tier 8, E.R.Trafford's Man, claiming that the assessment is too h~gh. Thereuoon after careful comoarison with the assessed valuation of similar orooertlee similarly located, the Commission felt that the assessment against tnls orooerty is well in line and no adjustment could be allowed. On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Bishoo and the Commission next authorized the emoloyment of Menry McAlieter by contract move 3~ trees from the right-of-way of Thirteenth Street between French Ave. and Lake Ave. at a orlce of $600.00. These trees being removed for the ouroose of widening the ~avement on Thirteenth Street. Said claim conststlng of $513.OO for damages to automobile, $46.00 medical fees and 276.OO for lose of time from his Job. Thereuoon on advice of City Attorney Wilson, Commissioner Gut moved tha~ the aforesaid claim be referred to Mr. A.C.Woodrow, Clslm Adjustor for the Accident & Cas- ualty Insurance Comoany, Winterthur, Switzerland, carrier of oublic liabili~y and orooerty damages insurance on the City's automobile involved in the accident with Mr. Merrell. Oeconded by Commlesioner Hill and carried. On recommendation of Chief of Police Williams, and on motion o f Co.missioner Lodge, seconded by Commlssioner Hill and carried, the Commission next authorized the emoloyment of H.T.Goffe ss oollce officer at a salary of $1~O.OO oer month, effective as of November 1%, 194Q. Communication nez~ read from E.P.Owen, Secretary of Florida I,eague of Municioallties, advising of the annual League Conference to be held in Jacksonvil~ on December 7-9. Thereuoon Commissioner Lodge moved that the Mayor, City Attorney and Clerk be authorized to attend the aforesaid Florida Municioal League Conference on December ?-9, the exoenses in connection therewith to be borne by the City.
