The City Commission of the Cky of Oanford,
session at the City Hall in the City of ~anford,
February 12,1947.

Current invoices and payrolls for month o f January 194?,properly audited and
vouchered as evidenced by voucher Nos. 9891 thru 9987, submitted, examined, approved
and payment authorized.
Monthly reports of streets, sanitation, health, water , police, fire, airport, and
library departments for month of January 1947, submitted and examined.
Financial statement of revenues and expenditures during month of January 1947
submitted and examined.
Bank statements in all accounts for month of January 1947, properly reconciled
submitted and examined.
Appl~ation next received from J.D.Carlton for transfer ko him for oermit and
license granted Kleanthis Ares to sell beer and wines at 801 W. 9th St., and on
recommendation of Chief of Pol~e , same was aooroved.
Application next received from William Lewis for transfer of his permit and
license to sell beer and wlnee at lO01 W. 13th St. to 90? W. 13th. St., and on
recommendation of chief of Police, se~e wss soproved provided he does not live on
the premises.
Mr. C.H. Cogburn next subm~ted plans and specifications for reconstructing
an old one story frame dwelling on Lots 4 and 5 of Block 2 ~arvsnia, that he proposes
to move from 214 Magnolia Ave.
Thereupon Commissioner Williams moved the approval of the aforesaid plans and
specifications, subject to the requirements and regulations of the building code.
Seconded by Commissioner Carraway and carried.
On motion of Commissioner Carraway, seconded oy Commissioner Williams and
carried, the Commission next approved the purchase of 17 refunding series A Oonds
from B.J.Van Ingen& Company, Inc, Miami, at a price of $680.00 each.
Offer of $200.00 next submitted from.Mr Henry Nickle to ourchase thst portion of
the City's muck bed property lying west of the large segment block storm sewer,
containing i 1/4 acres more or less
Action deferred pending information as to what use Mr. Nickle intends to make
of this property.
Mr. John Krider ne×t appeared on behalf of the Sanford Baseball Association
and requested a lease on the Municipal Bell Park for a period of one year, beginning
April 15,1947 , insteed of the b~seb~ll season of the Florida State League.

to the winning contestant of the Southeastern States Glider Contest to be held at
the Munlcipsl Airport on Marchl and 2, 1947.
Thereupon after careful consideration, Commissioner Carraway moved that an expendi-
ture in amount of $100.00 be authorized for purchasing a "City of Sanford" Trophy,
to be presented to the winning contestant of the Southeastern States Glider Contest
to be held at Sanford on March 1st, and 2nd.
Seconded by Commissioner Williams and carried.
Request next received from the Csmpbell-Lossing Post of Americsn Legion that
additional lots in Evergreen Municipal Cemetery be

Thereupon on motion duly adopted the 1946 delinquent real estate tax list was
ordered POSTED in accordance with the terms of the Charter, as amended.
