Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Mr Edgar S.Hlgglns, representative of Prenchmens Bsy Boating Company, Bar Harbor, Maine, next appeared and subm~ted a proposal to operate an excursion host on the St. Johns River during the winter tourist season and requested the City to lease them docking space at one of the small piers and also the north portion of the bandshell building for office space and concessions in connection with the boat business; agreeing to enclose said portion of the bandshell and install public rest- room facilities, which will be available to the public. Thereupon after considerable discussion and on motion duly adopted, the Commission granted the Frenchmens Bay Boating Company an option to June 1,1947, to lease adequate docking facilities at the Municipal Piers and the north portion of the bandshell building for the purpose of operating an excursion boat on Lake Monroe and St. Johns River for a term of three years, at a rental of $25.00 per month, subject to renewal at terms to be agreed upon, conditioned that the north portion of the bandshell be enclosed and equipped with restroom facilities for public use, and that the excursion boat be placed in operation during next tourist season. Mr. George Bart, who has been conducting an Umpire School at the Sanford Naval Air Station for a five weeks training period, ending February 2Oth next appear- ed and requested the use of the ground facilities at the Sanford Naval Air Station for conducting his school next season, also the use of the same facilities for conducting a baseball training school in conjunction with his umpire school. Thereupon the Commission agreed to grant Mr. Bsrr the use of the ground facilities at the Sanford Naval Air Station for conducting an umpire school and baseball training school during, the 1948 training season, provided that said property is made available to the City so that it can be used for this purpose, conditioned that Mr. Barr make definite arrangements before May 1,1947 for conducting his schools on said property. Mr C.K.Ellis next submitted an offer of $?50.00 to purchase the W. 31 ft. of North lO0 ft. of Lots 41 and 42 of Block G, Chappell's Subdiv., this property having been acqu~ed by the City thru foreclosure of tax liens. Thereupon the Commission declined Mr Ellis' offer of $750.00 and set a sale price of $1,250.00 on the aforesaid property. Bill of St. Johns Electric Company in amount of $332.~0 covering services rendered in repairing runway lights at municipal airport, next submitted, and on motion duly carried, same was aoproved and payment authorized. There being no furtherbusiness the meeting then adjourned until l:O0 o'clock P.M. February 20,1947.
