The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session
at the City Hall in ~he City of Sanford, Florida, at 1:30 o'clock P N June ?, 194~.
Present: Commissioner Robert A Williams, Nayor.

Absent: Commissioner Randall Chase.
Neeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that the purpose of the
meeting was to give further consideration to the proposal of Showalter Corooration,
Winter Park, to lease certain facilities at the ~unicipal Airport for the purpose of
operating a flight school and flying service, and to consider any other business that
may come before the Board at this time.
The City Nanager then submitted a counter proposal of Showalter Corooration to
lease office and classroom space in the hangar building, the armory building, and the
right to ~se the landing area in common with others, for a period of one year at a rental
of $25.00 per month for the first three months, not to exceed $100.00 per month for
remainder of lease, subject to renewal at terms to be agreed upon.
Thereupon after careful consideration, Commissioner Carraway moved the acceptance
of the proposal of Showalter Corporation, and ~hat the Nayor and Clerk be authorized
to enter into a lease agreemen~ in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined
above.
Seconded by Commissioner Krider and carried.
Consideration next given to the matter of insuring the airport property against
Public Liability and Property Damages in order to protect the City from any claims that may
arise as a result of accidents in connection with aircraft operations on the airport.
Thereupon after considerable discussion, Commissioner Lecher moved that the
City insure the airport property against a maximum coverage of $100,OOO.O0 liability for
each person, $200,000.00 for each accident, and $100,000. O0 property damages; and thet such
insurance be placed thru the Andrew Carraway Agency.
Seconded by Commissioner Krider and carried.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
