Current invoices and Payrolls for month of May 1948, properly audited and vouchered
as evidenced by Voucher Nos 1634 thru 1745 submitted, examined, approved and payment
authorized.
Monthly reports of streets, sanitation, health, water, police, fire, airport, and
library departments for month of May 1948, submitted and examined,.
Financial Statement and statement of revenues and expenditures during month of
1948 suOmitted and examined.
Bank statements in all accounts for month of Nay 194E, properly reconciled, Submitted
and examined.
Mr Floyd Palmer and Lloyd Anderson, representatives of the Prudential
of America, next appeared before the Board to submit a proposal
on the employees, life insurance policy now being carried by the
Insurance Co. and to include hospital and surgical benefits.
Matter taken under advisement.
Mr Otto Caldwell next appeared before the Board and submitted a proposal of $4.50
per pile for pulling all the piling from the St. Johns River Line Dock which was des-
troyed by fire. Nr Caldwell also stated that he would remove all the piling and debris
and give the City a deed for the property at a price of $5,990.00 , and that if the City
would furnish a derrick truck and haul away all the material he would deduct $800.00.
Proposel also received from Lewis & NcDowell, Inc, of Winter Park, Gl'feting to remove
all piling and to deliver all materials to City at site of work at a price of $4,485.00.
If materials saould become the property of Lewis & NcDowell the price would be $4,2?5.00.
No action taken.

On motion of Commissioner Carraway, seconded by Commissoner Chase and carried, the
Commission next approved the transfer of the beer and wine license issued to D.B.Stafford
at 1404 W. Thirteenth Street, to Mrs Ruth Lundauist, to operate at the same location.
Application next received from J.W. Douglas for oermit to sell beer and wine at the
Motors Inn at Seminole Boulevard and ~rench Avenue.
Matter referred to Chief of Police Williams to investigate and reoort to the Commission
at the next meeting.

Application next received from Gilbert A Williams for Dermit to sell beer and wine in
packages, to be consumed off the premises, at his grocery store at 1208 W. Thirteenth St.
Thereupon after considerable discussion, Commissioner Lesher moved that the aforesaid
application be approved.

(Correctional) dated May 2?, 1948, from War Assets Administrstion to the City of Sanford,
Florida.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida,
that the City of Sanford, Florida, does by this Resolution, determine and announce that
the City of Senford, Florida by this resolution accepts said Deed from the War Assets
Administration, and agrees to abide by the terms, reservations, restrictions and conditions
contained in said Deed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED thnt Robert A Wlllisms, the ~a2or, and H.N.Sayer, the
thereof be and they are hereby authorized and directed to acceot delivery of the
Supplemental Quitclaim Deed (correctional) on behalf of the s~id City of Sanford, Florida,
and to take ell steps necesssry to effect transfer of the property described therein.

Clerk to execute an easement agreement for the installation of a water service line under
the track of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company.

RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED by %he City Commissioners of the City of Sanford, Florida, in regular
meeting assembled, that the ~ayor-Commissioner be, and he hereby is authorized to enter into
an agreement with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company, and to sign same on behalf of
said City, whereby the said Railroad Company gives and grants unto the said City the right
and privilege to lay and maintain for the purpose of conducting water, a line of 3/4_inch
pipe,across the right-of-way and underneath the track of the Railroad Company at or near
Sanford, Florida, at a point on the Railroad Company's Sanford & Everglades Branch; said
point 0sing 3924 feet westwardly, measured along the center line of the main track of
said Branch from mile post UA-??i; the llne of said pipe to extend across said right-of-way
at right angles with said center line and being more particularly described in said agree-
ment, which agreement is dated ~ay 25, 1948.
On motion of Commissioner Krlder, seconded by Con, missioner Chess and Carried, the
Commlsslon next authorized the salary of John S. Lee, fireman, be increased from ~152.00
to ~137.50 per month, effective as of ~ay 16, 1948, in sccordance with the schedule set up
for promotion of firemen.
