110348-Special SessionMINUTES The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met In special session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon, November 3, 194~, for the purpose of canvassing the return of the Municipal Primary Elect!on held November 2, 19~. Present: Coma!ss!crier Lea R. Lesher, Acting Mayor Andrew Carraway # # # Randall Chase John Kr!der, Sr., City Attorney A. Edw!n Sh!nholser C!ty Manager & Clerk H. N. Sayer Deputy City Clerk Gordon L. Bradley Absent: Commissioner Robert A. W!ll!ams, Mayor. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Thereupon the Commission proceeded to canvass the returns of the Mun!c!pal Pr!mary Election held on November 2, 194~, as made by the Clerk and Inspectors of Sa!d elect~on aa follows: _ FO____R..,~ITY COMMISSIONER - GROUP NO. 1 For F. A. Dyson 427 votes For B. F. Ganae 212 votes For Roy Holler 390 votes For Henry McLaul!n, Jr. 76 votes For Henry H. W!tte, Jr. 293 votes FOR CITY COMMISSIONER _ GROUP NO. For J. E. Rowland, Jr. 474 votes For W. H. Stemper 65~ vo~ee For O. E. White 250 votes MUtilated ballots TOTAL votes cast thrown out 25 1447 Thereupon Commissioner Krider moved that ~he returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of the Mun!cipal Pr!mary Election held November 2, 194~, be accepted. Seconded by Commies!crier Chase and cart!ed. Thereupon F. A. Dyson was declared to be the regularly elected nominee In Group No 1, and W. H. Stemper the regularly elected nom!nee !n Group No. 2 for the pos!t!on of C~ty Comm/ss!oners of the City of Sanford, Flor!da, to be voted upon at the General Mun!c!pal Elect!on to be held on December ?, 194~E. Comm!ssioner Er!der next moved that the Clerk and Inspectors of the Mun~c!pal Primary Election held on November 2, 194E, be paid at the rate of $1.OO per Hour. Seconded by Comm!se!oner Chase and carried. On motion of Commissioner Chase, seconded by Commissioner Er!der, and carried, the Com- mission next appo!nted A. Edwin Sh!nholser aa C!ty Attorney and Fred R. ~!lson as Consulting Attorney effective as of October 1, 194E. The Commission then entered !nrc a lengthy discussion w!th Mr. A. E. Maddox of the Re- construct!on Finance Corporation relative to the City,s appl!cat!on for a self l!quidat!ng loan for the purpose of constructing dock and term!nal fac!lites. There be!ng no further bus!ness the meeting then adjourned. Attest:
