The City Comm!ss!on of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City
Hall in the C!ty of Sanford, Florida, at 4:30 o,clock p. M. November 12,
present: Comm!ss!oner Lea R. Lesher, Acting Mayor.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that the purpose of the meeting was
to discuss the proposed bus line and the rates and routes of taxi-cabs.
L. F. Boyle, Attorney and Sidney A. Allen, owner of the Yellow Cab Company, who is
contemplating establishing a bus line, next appeared before the Board and subm!tted a pro-
posed rate schedule for taxi-cabs, as follows: 25~ for the first 15 blocks, 35~ to City
Limits, and 50$ for the first person and 25~ for each additional person to the airport.
G. W. Spencer, Attorney for The SilVer Fleet Cab Company, next.appeared before the
Board and stated that he did not object to the establishment of a Bus Line, but objected to
the City fixing rates for tax!-cabs, and questioned the C!ty,s authority to fix such rates.
W. A. Mort!son, Pres!dent of the Merchants Association, Edward M!gg!ns, Manager of the
Seminole COunty Chamber of Commerce and Jack Moro'!son, owner of the Seminole Tire Shop,
all stated that they felt there was a need for a Bus L!ne not only to serve the people
of ~anford, but also those in the surrounding com~,~un!t!es.
Mrs. Velma ~onzalez, Blanche Takach and several of the colored cab drivers stated that
they did not object to the operat!on of a Bus Line, but d!d object to the C!ty setting rates
and designating the distance from bus stops for taxi-cabs to pick up passengers.
Thereupon after considerable discussion, act!on was deferred, pending further consideration.
There being no further business the meeting then adjourned until ?:3Q o'clock p. M.
