The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. July 18, 1949. Present: Gommies ioner Andrew Carraway, Mayor " F.A. Dyson " John Erider " W.H. Stemper City Attorney A. Edwin Shinholser City Manager Clifford NcKibbin, Jr., City Clerk H. N. Sayer Deputy City Clerk Gordon L. Bradley Absent: Commissioner Randall Chase Meeting called to order by the Chairman. The City Manager next submitted a tabulation of the bids received for construction of the proposed swimming pool. Said bids having been opened publicly by the City Manager and the Deputy City Clerk at 4:00 o'clock P.M. July 15, 1949. White and Donovan Dean the Archltect~, Commis~ oner Dyson moved that the City accept the bid of the Clayton Construction Company of Orlando, in amount of $33,317.O2 to construct a Flow-thru type pool wit~ poured concrete walls and wading pool; to accept the bid of West Central Plumbing & Heating Company, Orlando in amount of $?,26?.00 for installing all plumbing and mechanical equipment; to accept the bid of Florida WaterTreatment Company, Lakeland in amount of $2,766.85 for furnishing all mechanical equipment subject to satisfactory negotiation MINUTES ~_~. July 18 at 8:00 P.~. la 49 City Commission, Sanford, Fl~,u~,_ and that all bids for drilling the g" well be rejected, due to the fact that some of the Con- tractors misinterpreted the specifications, andlhat the City Manager call for new bids. Seconded by Commidd!oner Krider and carried. On motion of Commissioner Dy s~, seconded by Commissioner Stemper and carried, the Com- mission next authorized the installation of a street light at the intersection of 4th Street and Holly Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Krider, seconded by Commissioner Dyson and carried, the Commission next approved the conveyance without cost of Lot 22, Block 1~, San Lanta 2nd Sect~n to William Vihlen, veteran of World War II to construct a dwelling thereon within six months of conveyance, u~ er authority of Special Act of 19~5 Legislature.
