Mesers W.A.Patrlck and J D Wright of Patrick Fruit Corporation next appeared before the Board and outlined their proposal to construct a citrus concentrate Juicing plant in Sanford at an approximate cost of $500,000.00 and requested the City to furnish them a tract of land west of the proposed docks and terminal with approximately 400 ft. frontage on Seminole Boulevard and depth of approximately ?00 feet, immediately east and adjacent to ~he Atlantic Coaet Line Railroad Company property, as a site for same; advising that they contemplate having the plant constructed and in operation by February l, 1950, but that an agreement for deed to the aforesaid cite for the consideration of $1.00 would be sufficient at this time. A~eo stating that in order to assure the City that the property will be used for this purpose, a stipulation could be embodied in the agreement for deed providing for the construction of a citrus concentrate plant thereon within one year. Considerable discussion was then given to the amount of the large payrolls, the number of new families that would be brought to Sanford, the furnishing of employment for a number of local citizene, the numerous other benefits that would acc~'ue to the community through the establishments and operation of this plant in Sanford. Thereupon after careful consideration Commissioner Krider moved that the City execute an agreement for deed to Patrick Fruit Corporation for a tract of land described as: Beginning at a point on Seminole Boulevard at the northeast corner of the property of Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Compare, extending easterly along Seminole Boulevard approximately 400 feet, with depth of approximately ?OO ft., conditioned that a modern citrus concen- trate Juicing plant be erected thereon with in one year.
