'[~e City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session
at the City aall in theCity of Sanford, Florida, at lZ:O0 o'clock Noon December
1946, for the purpose of canvassing' the election returns of the General ~{unicipal
Election held December 3, 19q6.

Thereupon the Commission proceeded to canvass the returns of %be General
~{uniclpal Election held on December 3, 19i~6, for the purpose of electinE one Cite
Commissioner for a term: of three yearn, commencing the first Tuesday after the first
~onday in January 1947, as made by the Clerk and Inspectors of said election; said
retu~qls being as follows:

For Andrew Carraway 63 votes
Total votes cast 6~ votes.
Thereupon Commissioner Lesher moved that the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors
of the General }~unicipal Election held December ~, 1946, be accepted.
Seconded by Commissioner Bishop and carried.
Thereupon Andrew Carraway was certified as the regularly elected City Commissioner
of the City of Sanford, Florida, for three years,
Nonday in January 1947.
On motion duly carried, payment of $?.50 to each of the Inspectors and Clerk of the
General Election held on December 3, 1946, was next authorized.
City Manager next submitted a detailed report of the tabulations of the three bids
received at the regular meeting of November 25, 19~6, for furnishing one combination
aerial ladder, pumper and hose truck, said report showing the specifications of all
trucks evaluated to a comparable basis, including all standard and extra equipment, as
follows:

Thereupon after careful study and comparison of the general specifications of the
three trucks bid upon, it was the opinion of the Commission that the Seagravee is more
durable than the other two and would render the most satisfactory service because
of its design being the beet suited for Sanford's needs, andon motion of Commissioner
Hill, seconded by Commissioner Bishop and carried, the Commission awarded the bid
to the Seagraves Corporation, Columbus, Ohio for the purchase of one Seagrave Combina-
tion 65 ft. aerial ladder, 750 GPM pumper and hose truck at a price of $23,600.00
F.O.B.$anford, and the Mayor and 0lark were authorized to execute the purchase agreement
on behalf of the City.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
