The Mayor issued call for General IAmicipal Election to be held December Sth 1925 / and avpointed LeRoy P. Preliminary Esti~;~te on complete E asr Side Bulkhead was presented by Engineer and filed. etc. the City Engineer instructed to the City Communication from Magmolia Heights Inc. requesting paving of Hughey St. from ~ellonville Ave. connecting with paving in Rose Court, also Catalina Ave, ~ellonville to Locust Ave, ~d Locust Ave. connecting with Hughey St. and Polan' Drive, and ~aivi~g all legal notices etc. was read and on motion duly adopted, and the City Engineer was directed to proceed at once with this work. Communication from City Clerk Re: allotment of City Insurance giving ~nounts allotted and sm~ounts written showing F L Woodrufff & Son over-written in the sm~ of ~21,20S.00 and on motion duly adopted, the Clerk was directed to instruct Messrs Woodrufff & Son to ~:~ake their policy conform to allotment. Co:mnunication from Idr C i.~ recuesting Street ' .~ runn~n~ east and west in front of his property be named Narcissus Street, On motion duly adopted same was approved and so ordered. Conm~unication from the City Planning Co~ission reco.m:aending that Fourteenth St. between liyrtle Ave. and Lake Charm Branch of the A C L R.R be not closed, was read and filed. CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA. mINUTES hovemoer 9, 1925. On motion duly adopted, the City Attoney was authorized to employ some one to fill place of l~r. F S Lamson, Secretary, to the City Attorney, resi~ned. On :notion duly adopted the City l,~anager was authorized to purchase refrigerator outfit for the k~unicipal Golf Club House, and to employ :,Ir ~[ G Kelleher as Chef for the season, he to furnish all material and. 'to receive as remuneration all net proceeds of Club House service. On motion duly adopted, the Hutton Construction Co. was authorized to proceed with ne:v work on streets under agreement for new contract to be entered into under date of L~ov. 23 Inst. On motion duly adopted, the City Clerk was instructed to write L[r 0 H Page, General Supt. o£ the Atlantic Coast Line Ry. Co. requesting a~ early meeting to confer with the City Co~:m~ission in regard to property rights of the A.C.L. Ry. Co. in this City ~[r George '.7 Knight and l.lr W E ~atson came before the Conm~ission asking that the City proceed at once to construct concrete sewer in P~nuo Branch through San Lanta Subdivision and on mo~ion duly adopted the City Engineer was instructed to make up an estimate of the cost of constructing a concrete sewer in ~m~p Branch from Third St. south through Rose Ct. and submit the ss~ne at the next meeting of the City Co:m~ission. Commissioner C J Marshall introduced Resolutions ~24'~-A to 244-R requiring the construct- ion of certain sidewalks. Upon motion duly seconded and passed, said resolutions were adopt- ed by the City Commission. On motion duly adopted, the City Attorney was instructed to draft an ordinance limiting the oarking of cars on First Street to one hour; also to draft ordinance relative to citizens moving in the City. On motion duly adopted, the Clerk was authorized to issue a satisfaction of sidewalk Lien ~62 against Block ~ Tier y, E R Tragford's L~p, for face of lien ---~$231.81 The City Clerk submitted 'the c~mpleted ta:: roll for 1925 and s~ne was certified by the City Co~muission. The City Engineer submitted the following plats which were duly approved, and the Clerk instructed to file same in the City Plat Book: Second Section of "Dreamwold." "Highpoint" "Lake ~onroe Terrace" "Renaud Park" "Sanford Grove" replat , "Zarvania" and" Lincoln Court." Communication from the office of the City Attorney submitting list of old sidewalk liens of record in the City Office, ~faich appear to be un-collectible owing to inaccuracies in filing and descriptions, and recommending that same be cancelled, was read and on motion duly adopted, the Clerk was authorized to cancel ss~me. ( See journal page 83 for list of same) On motion duly seconded and adopted, the Clerk was authorized to pay a bill for fire works for Armistice Day of $250.00 and charge same to Contingent Fund Account.
