The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special called session at the City Hall in the City of Sanf°rd, Florida, at 12:00 Noon, Ju~y 15, 1953: Present: Commissioner Randall Chase, Mayor ,, J.D. Cordell " John D. Ivey " Joh~ L. Kadet " W.H. Btemper City Attorney A. Edwin Bhinholser City Clerk H. N. Sayer City Manager Thcs. L. Lemon Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that the purpose of the meeting was to consider further negotiations with Sun Oil Company by the City Manager and Attorney Volie A. Williams with reference to acquiring right of way for widening French Avenue. Ail members of the Commission being lm~esent, Commissioner Stemper then moved the waiver of requirement of service of written notice of the special meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Kadet and carried unanimously. The City Manager then reported on conference with officials of Sun Oil Company with further reference to the right of way to be acquired from their property which was valued by the aopraisal Board at $4,957.84, including value of land and cost of relocating their load- ing station and fence. Same having been based on relocating the loading station on tract of adjacent City owned property, size 35' x 25', which the City had agreed to sell them at price of $1,500.00. He advised that they would not accept the Appraisal Board's value for right of way and that condemnation suit had been filed by Attorney Williams, but after further negotiations they had agreed to accept $5,250.00 for the right of way, provided the City would sell them a site from the~Jacent property, size 35' x 55' for the loading station at price of $1,000.00. He further advised that T. O. Brown, Jr., to whom the City had agreed to sell the remaining portion of the adjacent property at price of $2,500.00, had agree~ to accept the property lees the 35' x 55' in southwest corner, at price of $2,250.00. After discussion and consideration Commissioner Kadet moved that Attorney Williams be authorized to settle with Bun Oil Company for right of way at price of $5,250.00. Seconded by Commissioner Ivey and carried. Commissioner Btemper then moved that the City sell the Bun Oil Company for sum of $1,000.00 a site, size 35' x 55' in southwest corner of the property described as Beginning 459 ft N and 56 ft E of southeast corner of Block 1-N Tier 9 of E R Trafford's Map, run E. 193 Ft N 100 ft W 193 ft S to point of beginning ( lees right of way for widening French Ave). Seconded by Commissioner Kadet and carried. Commissioner Stemper next moved that the City sell T. O. Brown, Jr., the remaining portion of the above described property at price of $2,250.00.
