The City Commission of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in the of Sar~ord, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. Augast 27, 1953. Present: CoH~issioner Randall Chase, Mayor " J.D. Cordell " John D. Ivey " John L. Kadet ~. H. Stcmoer City Clerk H. N. Bayer City Manager Thcs. L. Lemon Meeting called to order by the Chairman. On motion of Commissioner StemDer, seconded by Commissioner Tvey sn~ carried, the Com- mission next authorized an expenditure of $~5.00 for pure.hose of a plaque to be pPesented to Major Jack Bolt, "Ace Jet Pilot", at the com~uemoratlon ceremonies for Korean War Veterans on September 1. Proposal next submitted from Robinson Printing Company, of Orlando, for prinZlng the City's 13,000 1953 Tax Receipts in triplicate at a price of $~20.68 and 750 Tax Roll Sheets at price of $116.02. Thereupon after ~iscussion, end in view of no other printing comosny in central Florida having the forms and equipment to print the new type receiD~a, Commissioner Ivey moved that Robinson Co~pany be given the contract for furnishing and. printing them at price of $420.68. Beconded by Commissioner Cordell and carried. C ommlss~oner Ivey next moved ttmt Robinson Printing Conpany be given the contract for printing 750 Tax Roll sheets at price of $116.02. Seconded by Commissioner Stemper and carried. On motion of Commissioner 8temper, seconded by Commissioner Kader and carried, the Commission next authorized an expenditure of $25.00 for purchase of two keys to the City, for presentation by the Mayor. Th~ Commlse~on then oroceeded to a study of the estimated budget of revenues and expenditure~ for the fiscal year 195~-1954, as orepared by the City Manager. On motion of Commissioner Stemper, seconded by Commissioner Ivey and carried, the Com- mission authorized and directed that the funds in amount of $2,500.00 appropriated in current year's budge~ for development of a colored recreation center, be transferred to the Public Projects Fund and reserved for such purpose, and thaZ $1,000.00 be appropriated for the pro, ct in the 1953-1955 budget. After a lengthy study of other estimated exocndltures, the meeting adjourned until 8:00 o'clock P. M. August 31, 1953.
