The City Commission of the City of tanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon, November 4, 1953, for the purpose of canvassing the election returns of the Municipal Genersl Election h~ld November 3, 1953. Present: Com~lssioner ~ndall Chess, Mayor , J.D. Cordell ,, John L. Ksder , W.H. Stemper City Attorney A. Edwin Shlnholser Cl~y Clerk H. N. Bayer Absent: Commissioner Jo~ D. Ivey City Manager Thcs. L. Lemon Meeting called to order by the Chairman. The Commission ~hen proceeded to canvass the returns of the Municipal Ge~ral Election held November ~, 1953, for the purpose of electing two City Commiss~.oners for terms of three years each, and for approval or rejection of s salary increase for City Co~isslonere; said re~urns as made by the Clerks and Inspectors of ~aid elections being as follows: FOR CITY COMMISSI0hgER - GROUP NO. For Roy Holler For John S. Krider, Br. FOR CITY CoMMISBIO~CER - GROUP NO. For Earl Higginbotb~m For Matthew Lee Williams For M. C. Hagan FOR COMMISSIONERS SALARY INCREASE AGAINST CO~LMISSiONERS SALARY I~.~CREASE Mutilsted ballots thrown out TOTAL BALLOTS CAST 904 Votes 988 Votes 1,663 Votes 250 Votes I Vote 505 Votes 1,090 Votes 2,036 of the Clerks and In- Seconded by Com~issloner Thereupon Comrqissioner Kader moved that the foregS~ng returns spectors of the General Election held November 3, 1953, be acceoted. Cordell and carried. The Commission next proceeded to canvass the returns of the Straw Ballots on the Water Works and Sewerage Improvements Programs; said returns as made by the Clerks and Inspectors of said election being as follows: FOR PROGRAM NO. 1 FOR PROGRAM NO. 2 FOR PROGRAM NO. 3 672 Votes 105 Votes 859 Votes Thereupon Commissioner Stemper moved that the foregoing returns of the Clerks and In- spectors on the Straw Bal3ots be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Kader and carrleS. On motion of Commissioner Kader, seconded by Commissioner Cordell and carried, the Commission ne~t authorized payment at the rate of $1.00 per hour to each of t?~ Clerks and In- spectors of the aforesaid election. Commissioner Stemper ne~t offere~ Resolution No. 824 which was unanimously adopted by the Commission. lng the years of ~aid Resolution No. 824 being as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BA~0RD, FLORIDA, UPON THE DEATH OF J. F. McCLELLAND, SR. WHEREAS, J. F. F.
