The Commission then proceeded to sit as a Tax Equalization Board to receive any eom- olslnts this time. Thereupon the following complaints were oresented, follows: Attorney Fred R. Wilson appeared on behalf of the American Oil a protest against the assessed value of '~ ~ v21,~90.00 placed on the tanks, dise at their bulk plant, and service station equipment. or objections on the 1955 Tax Roll as prepared by the Tax Assessor and submitted at ~nd actlon taken by the Board as Company and submitted equipment and merchan- After careful comparison with assessed that the assessment wss well in line, and as set by t~e Tax Assessor. Seconded by A. H. Gaede, President of Sanford valuations of similar properties, it was felt Commissioner Scott moved thst the assessment stand, Commissioner Ratigan and carried. Gas Company, appeared and submitted protest against the assessed value of $a5,~20.00 placed on their real estate and $68,920.00 on personal property, ciaimlng the entire property was purc~sed for sum of $48,767.24. After careful review of t he assessed value of each parcel of property and equipment, Commissioner Higginbotham moved that the assessment and carried. Protest submitted placed on their stock and stand. Seconded by Commissioner Scott from McCrory Stores, Inc., eq'.lpment, claiming a book vslue of only $$2,998.92. against the assessed value of $59,120.00 After consideration, and upon advice of the Ta~ Assessor that McCrory Stores, Inc., had not made a ta~ return for the cast ~ ~ · o~r years, Commissioner Krider moved that the assess- ment stand. Seconded by Commissioner Scott and carried. Protest submitted from A. S. Butler against the assessed value of $5,750.00 placed on Lots 8, 9 and N~ of Lot l0 of Block 12, Highland Park. After comparison with similar properties similarly located, it was felt that the assess- ment was well in line and no chang~ was made by the Board. Protest submitted from B. F. Burke against the assessed value of $3,750.00 placed on Lot 5 Block 10 Tier 6, E. R. Trafford's Map, claiming it to be too high. After comparison with similar properties similarly locsted it was ment was well in line and no change was mede by the Board. There being no further complaints or objections registered, felt that the assess- on motion duly carried the Commission then adjourned as a Tax Equalization Board until 8:00 o'clock P. M. September 12, 1955, and thereupon proceeded to handle other business of t?~ adjourned meeting. Riehard Sodero next appeared with reference to the proposed lease agreement with him and W. R. Kemp for docking facilities st the municipal pier to operate an excursion boat on 436 MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida, August 29, at 8 P. renewing for three years, ?ears.
