110955-Special Session472 MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida, November 9 at ]P:O0 Noon ,,,~; The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the City Hall in the City of Ssnford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon, November 9, 1955, for the purpose of canvassing the election returns of the Municipal General Election held November 8, 1955. Present: Commlssloner J. D. Cor~telq, " John $. Krider, " Jack Rail. gan " F. D. Scott City Clerk H. N. $ayer City Manager W. E. Knowles Absent: Commissioner Earl Higglnbotham Meeting called to order by the Chairman. The Commlssian th~proceeded to c~nvas the returns of Ms yo r the Municipal General Election held November years, eomme~oing on Clerks and Inspectors 1955, for the purpose of electing one City Commissioner for s term of three the First Tuesday after the first Monday In January, 1956, as made by the of said election; said returns be!nf, as follows: 750 Votes 388 Votes FOR CITZ COMk'ISSIO~ER David M. Gatchel 1,1~0 Merle W. Warner Mutilated ballots thrown out TOTAL BALLOTS CAST Thereupon Commis~oner Ratlgan moved that the returns of the Cl~rk and Inspectors of the Municipal General E]ectton held November 8, 1955, be acceoted. Seconded by Commissioner Scott ~nd carrled. David M. Gstchel was then certlfle~ as the duly elected of Sanford, Florida, for three year term, commencing w!th first in January, 1956. On motion of Commissioner Ratigan, seconded by Commissioner Scott and carried, the Commlss~on nezt authorized payment of $1.00 per hour to each of the Clerks and Inspectors of the aforess~.d election.
