Petition from property owners on ~Vest Fourth St. Re: use of Black base in paving read and filed. Petition from Property owners in Eldorado Requesting opening and paving of certain streets read and the City Engineer was instructed to proceed with preliminary work. Petition from Bodwell Realty Co. requesting paving of streets in Fourth Section. of Dreamwold read and the City Engineer instructed to proceed with preliminary work. Communication from J L Cresap, State Engineer read for information and filed. Co~m-anication from Co~m~issioner E F Housholder Re: purchase of Lake View Cemetery at ~I,000.00 read, and the City Attorney was instructed to proceed at once to prepare necessary papers. Co~mu~nication from W B Willi~ns, City ~nager, read and filed. The Com~uission then proceeded as an Equalization Board to hear any complaints of objections as to the proposed paving of the following streets: Pl~uos Drive from Locust Ave. west 200 ft. --- 32 ft. wide. Fourteenth St. from Locust Ave. west 200 ft. --2~ ft. wide. Valencia St. from Locust Ave. ~est 200 feet 2~ ft. wide. Locust Ave. from Celery Ave. to Hughey Street 24 ft. wide. Rosalia Drive from Sanford Ave. to Locust Ave 2~ ft. wide. Paloma Ave. from Rosalia Drive to Locust Ave 2!~ ft. wide. ~aderia Ave. from Rosalia Drive to Paloma Ave.2~ ft. wide There being no complaints or objections filed, the Assessments were declared equalized, adjusted and confirmed. Cormuissioner S 0 Chase then intorduced Resolution #27~, entitled: "A Resolution rescinding Paving resolutions ~2~2 and and moved its adovtion. Said motion, which was duly seconded prevailed by the unanimous vote of the City Commission. Thereupon the Chairman of the Commission announced that the City Co~uission of the City of Sanford, Florida had duly passed and adopted that certain Resolution "~27~, entitled: "A Resolut$on rescinding paving resolutions ~272 and 274." Co~mnissioner S 0 Chase tnereupon introduced Resolution ~2~9: entitled: "A Resolution providing for the paving , re-paving, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Park Avenue from Second Street to Third Street a width of 50 feet." and moved its adoption. Said motion which was duly seconded prevailed by the ~muanimous vote of the City Commission. ~ereupon the chairman of the Co~muission announced that the City Conzmission of the City of Sanford, Florida had duly passed and. adopted that certain resolution numbered 2y9 entitled: , A Resolution providing for the paving, re-paving, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Park Avenue from Second Street to Third Street a width of ~0 feet." Commissioner S 0 Chase then introduced Resolution ~280, entitled: "A Resolution providing for the paving, re-paving, hard surfacing, and re-hard surfacing of Park Avenue from Fulton Street to Second Street, a width of 50 feet." Co~mmissioner S 0 Chase thereupon introduced Resolution ~281 "A Resolution providing for the paving, re-paving hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Park Avenue from Third Street to Ninth Street, a width of 50 feet." and moved that same be adoption. Said motion which was duly seconded prevailed by the unani?_'~ous vote of the City Commission. Thereupon the Chairman of the Con~:~ission announced that the City Co~u~ission of the City of Sanford, Florida had duly passed and adopted that certain Resolution numbered ~281, entitled: ,, A Resolution providi~ for the paving, re-paving hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Park Avenue from Third Street to Ninth Street, a width of 5~ feet." Conm~issioner S 0 Chase thereupon introduced Resolution $282, entitled: "A Resolution providin~ for the pavir~, re-pavi~, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Second Street from P~mp Branch west to Oak Ave. a width of 4~ feet." and moved that s~me be adopted. Said motion, which was duly seconded, prevailed by the umanimous vote of the City Commission. Thereupon the Chairman of the Co~nission announced that the City Com~nission of the City of Sanford, Florid~ had duly passed and adopted that certain resolution n~bered 282 entitled: "A Resolution oroviding for the paving, re-caving, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Second Street f~om P~p Br~nch west to Oak A~enue, .. a ~idth of 40 feet." Co::~issioner, S 0 Chase then introduced Resolution ~2~3, entitled: "A Resolution providi~ for the caving, re-paving, hard surfacir~ and re-hard surfacing of Sanfor~ Avenue fron~First Street to Fifth Street a width of Forty feet." and moved that same be adopted. Said motion which w~s duly seconded prevailed by the unanimous vote of the City Co~umission. Thereupon the Chairman of the Commission announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florid~ had unanimously passed and adopted that certain resolution No. 283, entitled: "A Resolution providing for the paving, re-paving, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Sa~ord Avenue from First Street to Fifth Street a width of forty feet." Con, missioner S 0 Ch~se then introduced Resolution ~284, entitled: "A Resolution prov~ing fo= the pavia, re-paving hard surfacing and re -hardsurfacing of First Street from Sanford Ave. west to Oak Ave. , a width of ~5 feet." and moved that s~ne be adopted. Said motion which was duly seconded prevailed by the unanimous vote of the City ~o~ission. Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Co::umission of the City of Sanford, .Florida had unanimously passed and adopted that cert;:in resolution No. 28~, entitled: "A Resolution providing for the paving, re-paving, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of First Street fro~u Sanford, Ave. west to Oak Ave. a width of 55 feet." Said motion which was duly seconded prevziled by the unanimous vote of the City Co~umis~ion. Said motion which was duly seconded, prevailed by the unan- imous vote of the City Con~ission. Thereupon the Chairman of the Commission announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida had by unanimous vote passed and adopted Resolution ~2~6 entitled: "A Resolution provid±ng for the paving re-paving, ha[d surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Ninth Street from Park Avenue west to French Ave. o~ width of ~10 feet. and moved that same be adopted. Said motion which was duly seconded prevailed by the ~animous~ vote of the City Conrnission. Thereu~on the Chairman of the Commission announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford Florida had duly passed and adopted that certain Resolution ~S6, entitled: "A Resolution providing for the paving, re-paving hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing.of Ninth Street from Park Ave. west to French Ave. a width of ~0 feet." Thereupon Commissioner S 0 Chase introduced Resolution ~2~7 Entitled: "A Resolution ~rovidin~ for the ~avins, re-laying, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Hug~ey Street f~om Lily Court Eas~ to ~eltonv[lle Ave. a width of Z~ feet." and moved its adovtion. Said motion which was duly seconded prevailed by the unanimous vote the City Co~:mission. Thereupon the Chairman of the Commission announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida had duly passed and adopted that certain resolution ~2~7 entitled: "A Resolution vroviding for the ~a~ing, re-paving hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Hughey St. from' Lily Court East tS ~etlonville Ave. a width of 2~ feet." Mr Volie Willi~ns came before the Commission and stated that he would give a deed for right- of way for State Road ~3 through his lots in Pine Heigd~ts on condition that the City Pay for the Paving of the Additional widening of said Street. On motion duly adopted the City agreed to do this. l!r and L[rs S H Buchanan came before the Commission requesti~tT an allowance on account of damages to their oar in collision with Fire Engine ; and on motion duly adopted the Clerk was authorized to draw a check in the sum of ~50.OO in full of said claim, and turn the same over ~o the City Attorney. Charging same to contingent fund. Bill of Hutton Construction Co. for hauling clay to L[unicipal dock in the sum of i$250.OO was s~proved and ordered paid. Mr Jos. E Craig hame before the Comuission relative to Engineering~ on City wharves etc. and on motion duly adopted L[r Craig was instructed to prepare three different tentative plans for same at an expense not to exceed ~1,O00.00; in which Lit no charge for ~is o~wn services. Commissioner S O Chase then introduced Ordinance No. Craig agreed to make entitled: "AN Ordinance declaring the intenetion of the City of Sanford, Flo:~'ida to annex certain territory to the present corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida." and ss~ae was placed upon its first reading. Thereupon the Chairman of the City of $~uford Florida by the City Commission announced that the City Commission of its vote had passed and adopted Ordinance No.124 entitled: "An Ordinance declaring the intention of the City of San£0rd, Florida to annex certain territory to the present corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida." Thereupon Co~issioner S O Chase introduced Ordinance No. 125, entitled: "An Ordinance declaring the intention of the City of Sanford, Florida, to annex certain territory to the present corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida." and same was placed upon its first reading. There~oon Commissioner Chase moved that the rules be waived and said ordinance be placed ~oon its second reading and final passage. By unanimous vote of the City Com:nission the'rules were waived, and said ordinance was placed upon its second reading and final passage and read in full. The roll was ordered called upon the passage and adoption of said ordinance. Those voting in favor of the adoption of said ordinance being Commissioners Forrest Lake, S 0 Chase and E F Housholder. Thereupon Commissioner Chase moved that the rules be waived and said ordinance be placed upon its second reading and final passage. By Unanimous vote of the City Commission the rules were waived, and said ordinance placed upon its second reading and final passage read in full. Thereupon Commissioner S 0 Chase introduced Ordinance No. 12~, entitled: "An Ordinance providing for the vacating and closing that portion of Washington Street in the Plat of Cottage Hill, as recorded in Plat Book 2, Page 8y of the Public Records of Seminole County Florida lying east of the East line of Cooke Avenue." and same was placed upon its first reading. Thereupon Commissioner Chase moved that the rules be waived and said ordinance be placed upon its second reading and final passage. By Unanimous vote of the Commissioners the rules were waived, and thereupon Said ordinance was placed upon its second reading and final passage and read in full. Thereupon Forrest Lake as Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida by its vote had oassed and adopted Ord- inance No. 128, entitled: "A~ Ordinance providing for the vacating and closing of that portion of the alley lying bet~zeen Lots 12 and l~ inclusive, and lots 15 to 17 inclusive, Cottage Hill, lying East of the West lines of said Lots 12 and 1y, Cottage Hill." Thereupon Commissioner S~O~Ghas~tintroduced Ordinance No. 129, entitled: "An Ordinance prohibiting the driving' over streets under construction, or streets barricaded or closed to public travel, prohibiting the defacing or destruction of public property and prescribing a penalty for the violation of 'the terms of this Ordinance." and same was placed upon its first reading. Thereupon Commissioner Chase moved that the rules be waived and said ordinance be olaced upon its second reading and final passage. By unanimous vote of the Contmissioners the rules were waived, and thereupon said ordinance was placed upon its second reading and final passage and read in full. City Engineer Fred T Williams submitted plat~ of "Lake Front Addition to Eayfair" and upon motion duly adoption same was approved.
