061426CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, MINUTES June 14 , 1926 19¸ Present: Commissioners , Forrest Lake (Nayor) S 0 Chase and E F Housholder; City ~J~nager ~ B Williams, City Engineer Fred T Williams. ~,~inutes of last regular ~Ud adjourned sessions Communication from W E Sheddon , City Engineer, paving streets read and filed. read and approved of Jacksonville re: widening and Commissioner S 0 Chase introduced Ordinance ~131, entitled. "An Ordinance Annexing certain territory to the present corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida." and moved that same be placed upon its first reading. Thereupon Commissioner Ch~se moved that the rules be waived and said ordinance be p placed upon its second reading and final passage. By unanimous vote of the Commissioners the rules were waived and said ordinance was placed upon its second reading and final pass- age and read in full. The rolls ordered c~lled upon the passage and adoption of said Ordinance. Those voting for th~ adoption of said ordinance were Con~issioners Forrest Lake, S 0 Chase and E F Housholder. Those voting against the adoption of said ordinance were: Commissioners none. Thereupon Forrest Lake, as Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commissioners of the City of Sanford, Florida had by unanimous vote passed and adopted tha~ certain ordinance ~131, entitled: "An Ordinance annexing certain territory to the present corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida." Thereupon Commissioner S O Chase introduced Ordinance No. 132, entitled: "An Ordinance annexing certain territory to the present corporate limits of the City of Sanford Florida." and moved that same be placed upon its first reading. Thereupon Co~nissioner Ch~se moved that the rules be waived and said ordinance be placed upon its second re~ding and final passage. By unanimous vote of the Commissioners the rules were w~ived, and said ordinance placed upon its second reading ~d final passage and read in full. The roll was ordered called upon the passage and adoption of said Ordinance. Those voting for the adoption of said ordinance were Commissioners Forrest Lake, S 0 Ch~se and E F Housholder. Those voting agairst the adoption of said ordinance were: Commissioners none. Thereupon Commissioner Forrest Lake, as Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford Florida had unanimously passed and adopted that certain Ordinance ~132, entitled: "An Ordinance annexing certain territory to the present corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida." The Commission then proceeded as an equalizing Board to hear complaints or objections as to the proposed paving of the following streets: First Street from Sanford Ave. to Oak Avenue (re-paving) ~ Hughey St. - from Lilly Court to Nellonville Ave. 2~ ft. wide. Park Ave. from Fulton St. to Second St. ( widening from 40 to 50 ft.) CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA. minUTES June 14, 1926 from Fulton to Second - ; Park Ave. from Second to Third St. and Sar_ford Ave. Thereupon the City Commission declared the assessments, equalized, adjusted and confirmed. ~r John Nusson and Mr. S N Abercrombie et al filed objections as to the proposed paving of Second St. from Pine Ave. east to Chapman Ave.; and same was taken under ~visement. Con~unication from J A Spencer , City Engineer, St. Petersburg re: widening and paving streets read and filed. Communication from City Planning Commission Re: widening certain streets read and filed. On motion duly adopted the City Engineer, was authorized to proceed with preliminary assessment on the following streets: Widening Park Ave, from Third St. to ~inth St. to a width of 40 ft. Nin~th Street from Park Ave. to French Ave. a width of 36 ft. and from French Ave. to R.R. 40 ft. wide. ~r F R Wilson came before the Commission requesting the contin~uce of ~iss Graves~ as City nurse, and upon motion duly adopted same was so ordered. ~s Mildred Peabody submitted advertising in" This Week in Sanford" and on motion duly adopted, the Clerk was authori~ed to pay the sum of $50.00 for same. Communication from Consulting Engineer, Craig re: City dredge was read and filed. Report of City Nanager and Clerk from Nay was read, accepted and filed. The Clerk was authorized to issue time warrant to mature in Sixty days , in favor of th~ Stanley & Gill Nachinery Co. fo~:~ in final payment account dredge construction~ On motion duly adopted the City Nanager was authorized to install white-way on Hood Ave. City Engineer submitted plats of"Sylvan Park~"Niller's"Subdivision, and "Pine Level" All of same were duly approved. On motion duly adopted the Clerk was authorized to cancel the following Personal on 1925 tax roll.
