Absent: Commissioner Forrest Lake.
~pon request of Commissioner S 0 Chase, Commissioner E F Housholder presided as
Acting Mayor.
Minutes of last regular meeting read and approved.
0ommissioner S 00hase offered the following resolution, and the Clerk authorized
to draw a warrant for same.
#Resolved that 0ity appropriate One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars.
Appreciating the great calamity that has fallen on a large section of our State
and recognizing that our 0ity has been consistently and abundantly blessed, not only in
being spared in this great storm, but throughout the entire year, we feel it ou~ duty
to make a substantial gift on behalf of the 0ity to the American Red Cross, who are and
will continue to meet every necessary emergency in caring for the unfortunate sufferers.
Therefore, we have appropriated from the general funds of the City, the sum
of One Thousand Dollars , and would respectfully urge the citizenship of Sanford individ-
ually to make such offerings as are worthy of our prosperous City in meeting the needs
of such a horrible and widespread calamity in our own State.

Hose Mfg. 0o. 3,000 feet of Paragon Fire Hose $ 1.40 per foot - $4,200.00 , payable in 1
and 2 years, interest $ 6%.
Upon motion duly adopted the Clerk was authorized to draw a warrant for $250.00 in
favor of the Shrine Club, and charge same to Contingent Fund Account.

There being no complaints or objections filed the assessments were declared equalized
adjusted and confirmed.
The following bills were read, approved and the Clerk inst~ucted to pay the same.
The meeting then adjourned to meet at 9 A.'M. September 28th.
