W B Williams, City Manag~, City Attorney, George A DeCottes, City Engineer, Fred T. Williams, Absent: Commissioner S 0 Chase. Minutes of last regular and adjoturned meetings read and approved. Commissione~ E F Housholder offered the following Resolutions: Resolution~ 323 entitled: #A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE PAVING, RE PAVING, HARD SURFACING AND RE HARD SURFACING OF MAPLE AVENUE FROM SPURLING STREET TO CENTRAL STREET, HOLLY AVENUE FROM SPURLING STREET TO CENTRAL STREET, CEDAR AVENUE FROM SPURLING STREET TO CENTRAL STREET, SPURLING STREET FROM FRENCH AVENUE TO CEDAR AVENUE AND CENTRAL STREET FROM FRENCH AVENUE TO CEDAR AVE~IE IN PINEHURST SUBDIVISION, A WIDTH OF 24 FEET. and moved that same be adopted. Said motion which was duly seconded prevailed by the unanimous vote of the City Commission. Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commissio~ of the City of S~nford Florida had by unanimous vote passed and adopted that certain res- olution ~323, entitled: ~ A Resolution providing i~or the paving, re-paving , hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Maple Ave. from Spurling Street to Central St., Holly Ave. from Spurling Street to Central Street, Cedar Ave. from Spurling St. to Central. St. ; Spurling St. from French Ave. to Cedar Ave., and Central St. from French Ave. to Cedar Ave., in Plnehurst Subdivision a width of 25 feet." Resolution $324 entitled: "A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE PAVING, RE PAVING , HARD SURFACING, AND RE - HARD SURFACING ~ OF FOURTH STREET, UNION AVENUE AND EIGHT STREET FROM SU:.~IERLIN AVE~JE EAST TO SCOTT AVENUE A WIDTH OF 24 feet. and moved that same be adopted. Said motion which was duly seconded prevailed by the unanimous vote of the City Commission. Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford Florida had unanimously passed and adopted that certain resolution ~325 entitled: "A Resolution providing for the pavi~ng, re-paving, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Fourth Street,; Union Ave. and Eighth Street from Summerlin Ave. east to Scott Ave. aL width of 25 feet." Resolution $325 entitled: "A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE PAVING RE- PAVING , HARD SURFACI~ A~RE-HARD SURFACING OF SCOTT AVENUE FROM SEMINOLE BOULEVARD SOUTH TO EIGHTH STREET, A WIDTH OF 24 ~EET. and moved that same be adopted. Said motion which was duly seconded, prevailed by the unanimous vote of the City Commission. Thereupon the Chmirman of the City Commission announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida had unanimously passed and adopted that certain resolution ~325 entitled: "A Resolution providing for the paving re-paving, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing of Scott Ave. from Seminole Boulevard south to Eighth Street , a width of 24 feet. Resolutions ~ 326-A to 326-¥ Inclusive, requiring construction of certain sidewalks. and moved that same be adopted. Said motion prevailed by unanimous vote of the ¢o~ission CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD. FLORIDA, MINUTES October Communication from Sanford Laundry Re: paving of Cedar Avenue read and filed. Oo~uunication from Governor Martin read and filed. On motion duly adopted the Clerk was authorized to transfer all unexpended balance~ to such departments as show a deficit in closing the books for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 1926 Mr E A Douglass came before the Commission a~ud agreed to put up a collateral Bond for B F Ganas , Contractor on the Pump Branch conduit, on condition that Mr Ganas give an order to the City to make all vouchers in payment for this work, payable to E A Douglass, and on motion this was agreed to. Mr W C Hill came before the Co~mmission Re: paving of Palmetto Ave south from Geneva St. for three blocks, and upon motion duly adopted the City Engineer was instruct~ to proceed with the preliminary work. City Attorney George A DeCottes, reported with reference to Howard Overlin garage about which complaint was heretofore filed by ]~ C E Hunter, and on motion duly adopted the Clerk was instructed to notify Mr Hunter that the City could not take ~ny legal action in the matter. Reports of the City Hanager and City Clerk for the month of September were submitted , read and filed. On motion duly adopted the City Engineer was directed to pave all streets in Buena Vista Estates with 6 inch rock base, surface treated, as per petition filed by the property owners this day. Co~mmissioner E F Housholder introduced Ordinance ~139 entitled: AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC UPON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF S~ANFORD FLORIDA" and moved that sa~ne be placed upon its first reading. Thereupon Commissioner E F Housholder moved that the rules be waived, and said ordinance be placed upon its second reading s_ud final passage. By unanimous vote of the City Co~mission the rules were waived and said ordinance placed upon its second reading and final passage, a~ud read in full. The Roll was ordered called upon the passage and adoption of said ordina~ e. ~nose voting for the adoption o~ said ordinance were: Commissioner Forrest Lak$ and E F Housholder. Those voting against the adoption of said ordinance were: Oommissioner None. Thereupon the 0hairm~n of the City Commission a_unounced that the City Oom- mission of the City of Sanford, Florida had by unanimous voted passed and adopted that certain ordinance ~139, entitled: "AN ORDINANOE REGULATING TRAFFIC UPON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE OITY OF SANFORD FLORIDA." Thereupon Com:nissioner E F Housholder introduced Ordinance ~140, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE HEGULARING THE MOVEI~NT OF ROLLING STOCK OF PUBLIO CARRIERS IN THE CITY OY SANFORD FLORIDA." and moved that s~me be placed upon its first reading. Those voting for the adoption of said ordinance were: Commissioners Forrest Lake and E ¥ Housholder. Those voting against the adoption of said O~dinance were Commissioners None. Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commissio~ of the City of Sanford, Florida had by unanimous voted, passed and adopted that certain ordinate ~140, entitled: "An Ordinance regulating the movement of rolling stock of public carriers in the City of Sanford Florida." Thereupon Commissioner E F Housholder, introduced Ordinance No. 141, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE REGULARING THE NOVE~NT OF ROLLING STOCK OF PUBLIC CARRIERS IN THE CITY OF SANFORD FLORIDA." and moved that same be placed upon its first reading. Thereupon Commissioner E F Housholder moved that the rules be waived and said ordinan~ce be placed upon its second reading and final passage. By unanimous vote of the City Co~mmission, the rules were waived and said ordinance placed upon its second reading and final passage and read in full. The roll was ordered called upon the passage and adoption of said ordinance. Those voting for the adoption of said ordinance were: Commissioners Forrest Lake and E F Housholder. Those voting against the adoption of said ordinance were Commissioners ~None. Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commission of ithe City of Sanford, Florida had by unanimous vote passed and adopted that certain ordinance ~141, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE REGULARING THE NOVENENT OF ROLLING STOCK OF PUBLIC CARRIERS IN THE CITY OF !$ANFORD FLORIDA." On motion duly adopted the Clerk was authorized to instruct Nr C L Goodhue, Building Inspector of the City of Sanford to construe that sand~-~lime~-stone , brick are within the meaning of Sec. 35 of the building Code. On motion duly adopted the Clerk was authorized to cancel the following personal taxes on 1925 Roll: . Sanford Loan g d$~lO.OO Collected$500.O0 Cancel 355.46 ( Over assessed.) Faithey Smith Oarrie Bennett ( Double Assessmen~ .............. ( Over Assessed ) ..... The rolls, wing bills were read, approved, ~nd the Olerk authorized to pay same.
