Present: Commissioners Forrest Lake (Nayor) S 0 Chase and E F Housholder
City Nanager W B Williams, City Engineer, Fred TWilliams, and City Attorney , George A
DeCottes.
Ninutes of last regular mud adjourned meetings read and approved.
Petition from citizens of Goldsboro requesting that Sunday Closing law be enforce
in that district was read and the Chief of Police was instructed to see that same was com-
plied with.
The City Commission then proceeded as an equalizing Board to hear any complaints
or objections as to the proposed paving of the ~ollowing streets:
Escambia Drive from Locust Ave. to Vernango Ave.
Catalina Drive from Locust Ave. to Nellonville Ave.
Rosalia Drive from Locust Ave. to Nellonville Ave.
Vernango Ave. from Rosalia Drive to Catalina Drive.
There being no complaints or objections filed, the assessments were declared
equalized, adjusted and confirmed.
The Nayor then opened discussion of the matter of wideni~6 and re-paving Park Ave.
and Second Street, and after a hearing granted property owners, the City Engineer and
the City Attorney were authorized to proceed with engineering and legal details in con-
nections with the widening and pavirg of a portion of Park Ave and Second Street.
On motion duly adopted it was agreed to pay J N Vickery the sum of $300.00 for right-
of way across his lot~ Nos ~ I~ in Woodruff's Subdivision.
Mr S 0 Shinholser submitted zoning plans and ordinance, and same were taken
under consideration.
Communication from Nr N H Garner asking extension of gas and sewer service in
Oak Hill Subd~vi~ion was read and on motion duly adopted the City Nanager was authorized
to order one car of cast iron pipe for this extension of gas mains.
On motion duly adopted the City ~anager was authorized to purchase from the
one street sweeper at the price of $6,650.00, less allowance on
$1000.00 , to be paid for in installments of one, two and three
Commissioner S 0 Chase then introduced Resolution ~329, entitled.
"A Resoltuion providing for the paving, re-paving, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing
of Second Street from Avacado Avenue west to Nangustine Ave. and Nangustine Ave. between
First Street and Second Street, a width of 24 feet."
and moved that same be adopted.
Said motion which was duly seconded, prevailed by the unanimous vote of
Commission.

Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commissien
of the City of Sanford Florida had by unanimous vote passed and adopted Resolution ~329 en-
titled:
"A Resolution providing for the paving, re-paving, hard surfacing and re-hard surfacing
of Second Street from Avacado Ave. west to Nan~%~stine Ave.; and Nangustine Ave. between
First Street and Second Street, a width of 24 feet."
Upon motion duly adopted the City Engineer was instructed to prepare

Communication from City Engineer , Fred T Willi~mR calling attention to expiratiom
of present contract with the Hutton Construction Co on street paving on November 2Otb
and giving a list of streets yet to be paved , and on motion he was authorized to advertise
for bids on same.
The following bills were read and approved, and the Clerk authorized to draw checks in
payment for same ( For list, see disbursement book)
COmmissioner.S O Chase int~odueced.~Ordimance $143, entitled:
An Ordinance Providing for ghe vacating and closing of that poriton of the Alley running
North and South between N~tl~t~vS~uee~md Cedar Ave. , wouth of Twelfth Street in the City
of Sanford, Florida."
and moved that same be placed upon its first readin~
Thereupon Commissioner Chase moved that the rules be waived, and said ordinance be
placed upon its second reading and final passage. By unanimous vote of the City Commission t e
rules were waived and said ordinance placed upon its second reading and final passage, and
read in full.

Those voting for the adoption of said ordinance were: Commissioner Forrest Lake, $ 0
Chase and E F Housholder. Those voting agai~t the adoption of said ordinance were:
Commissioners None.
Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commission of
the City of Sanford Florida had by unanimous vote passed and adopted that certain Ordinance
$143, entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for the vacating and closing of that portion of the alley running
north and south between Holly Avenue and Cedar Ave, south of Twelfth Street in the City of
Sanford Florida.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
