City Commission met in regular session Dec. 13, at 2:30 P.N.
Present: Comnui=sioners Forrest Lake (Mayor) $ 0 Chase and E F Housholder.
City Nanager, W B Williams, and City Engineer Fred T Williams.
Minutes of last regular and annual meetings read and approved.
Mr Jos. Rltchie came before the Commission and requ=sted the construction of a tennis
court and other improvements in connection with the Forrest Lake Hotel and same was referred
to the City Manager for investigation.
The Lake Monroe Transportation Co. came before the Commission requesting an appropriation
~f $150.OO per month for a period of 6 months, beginning with December 1926 to apply on
the maintenance and operation of the passenger boat "Welaka" , and on motion duly adopted
the City Clerk was instructed to make said appropriation, and to draw a warrant for $150.00
monthly in favor of the Lake Monroe Transpc=$attnn Co. for six months from date ( See agree-
ment filed) and charge same to publicity account.
Agreement with the A C L. Ry Co. for pipe crossing, was submitted and the following
resolution adopted:
# Be it resolved by the City Commissioners of the City of Sanford, Florida in regular
session assembled, that the Mayor-Commissioner be, and he hereby is authorized to enter into
an agreement with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company, and to sign same on behalf of
said City , whereby the said Railroad Company gives and grants unto the said City of ${~nfcrd
Florida, the right and privilege to lay and maintain for the purpose of a storm sewer, a
line of 12 inch double strength concrete pipe across the right-of-way and underneath the
main track of the Sanford and Everglades Branch of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad in said
City of Sanford, at a point 3093.5 ft. westwardly from Nile Post $-1 ( Sanfcrd Mileage) all
as more particularly described in said agreement dated November 19, 1926."
Communication from Packard Realty Company re: Crystal Lake Bridge was read and filed.
Commissioner $ 0 Chase introduced Resolution ~230-A requiring construction of sidewalk
along certain lots in Sanfo Park, and moved that same be adopted.
Thereupon said motion being duly seconded, prevailed by the unanimous vote of the City
Commission.
Thereupon the Chairman of the City Commission announced that the City Commission had
unanimously passed and adopted Resolution ~230-A.
Commissioner $. 0 Chase introduced Ordinance ~144, entitled:
# An Ordinance regulating the construction of monuments and copings in Evergreen Nuniclpal
Cemetery."
and same was placed on its first reading , and laid over for ~urther consideration.
Communication from Mrs $ B Wight, tendering her resignation from the Beautificatio~
Commission and on motion, same was accepted, and the Clerk instructed to write Mrs Wight to
that effect and to thank her for services in the name of the City Commission.
On motion unanimously adopted the following banks of the City of Sanford, Florida
were designated as City Depositories for the ensuing year; as per Sec. 48 and 49 of City Charter

required by the City Commission.
On motion duly adopted the City Nanager was authorized to raise the house of R W.
Pearman located on a part of Lot 9 in Block Y, St. Gertrude's Subdiv. 2½ feet above its
present level, owing to the filling by the City on said lot.
Mr A P Connelly came before the Commission relative to sewer under lots~ ~3
to protect the foundations of any building Nr Connelly may build on said lots , so far as
said sewer may affect same.
On motion duly adopted the City Engineer was authorized to proceed with the paving
of Scott Ave. from Fourth St. to Eighth St. in Fort Nellon Subdivision.
On motion duly adopted the City Attorney was ir~tructed to proceed at once to take
action against all delinquent paving assessments, where ssane are more than six months in
arrears, provided however, that all such owners shall be previously given a final notice
On motion duly adopted the Clerk was authorized to caneel the following taxes:
1925 Personal Taxes :

1926 Personal Taxes:
J H McCaslin ............... 3.?5 ( Same being over - assessed.)

assessed with house, whereas house had been burned before assessment was made)
Commissioner S 0 Chase introduced Ordinance No. 1~5, entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida, in the sum
of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars for Nunicipal purposes, the proceeds derived ~rom
the sale thereof to be used and expended to erect, construct and equip a Nun~cipal Hospital
in the City of Sanford, Florida,"
and same was placed on its first reading.
Thereupon,.Commissioner Chase moved that the rules be waived and said ordinance be
placed upon its second reading and final passage. By unanimous vote of the Commissioners,
the rules were waived, and thereupon, said ordinance was placed upon its second reading
and final passage and read in full.
The roll was ordered called upon the passage and adoption of said Ordinance, those
voting for the adoption of said ordinance being Commissioners Forrest Lake, S O Chase
and E F Housholder,
Thereupon Forrest Lake, as Chairman of the City Commission , by its vote had passed
and adopted ordinance No. 145, entitled:
"An Ordinance providing for an issue of bonds by the City of Sanford, Florida in the sum
of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars for Municipal purposes, the proceeds derived from
the sale thereof to be used and expended to erect, construct and equip a Nunicipal Hospital
in the City of Sanford, Florida."
Upon motion of Commissioner S 0 Chase, the Nayor was ordered and directed to issue
a call for an election for the ratification and approval of the ordinance aforesaid by the
qualified electors of the City of Sanford, Florida, said election to be held on the 18th
day of JanNary A.D.1926, in conformity with the Charter and ordirances of the City of Sanford

"Resolution rescinding Paving Resolutions Nos. 311, 312 and 313~
and moved that same be adopted.
Thereupon said motion being duly seconded, prevailed by the unanimous vote of the
City Commission.
Thereupon the Chairman of

had by unanimous vote passed and adopted Resolution
311, 312 and 313.,'
The following bills were read and approved, and the Clerk authorized to draw checks
to pay same ( For list see disbursement book).
