MINUTES
Regular Meeting, Jan 3 at
The City 0ommission of the 0ity of Sanford Florida met in regular session at the
0ity Hall at Sanford Florida at Two O'Clcok P M on January 3, 1928
Present: Commissioners, E F Housholder, Mayor.

The Meeting was called to order by the Chairman and the minutes of previous meet-
ings held on December 26,27,28,30~a~d January 2, 1928 were read and approved, and thereupon
0ommissioner S 0 Chase offered the following resolution, which was unanimously adopted:
"WHEREAS, the term of office of Mr W O Hill expires today, and,
WHE~WJ~-AS, Mr W C Hill became a 0ity Commissioner of the City of San.ford Florida
for the purpose of completing the term of office left vacant by the resignation of Mr Forrest
Lake, and undertook the duties of such office under ~ery trying circumstances, and
WHEREAS, the duties devolving upon Mr Hill as a Commissioner, have required a great
amount of his time and continual sacrifices of his own business affairs, and,
WHEREAS, the City Commissioners of the 0ity of Sanford are not unmindful of the
public service rendered by Mr Hill, and feel grateful to him for his efforts in behalf of the
Oity dttring his term of office, and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the 0ity of Sanford, Florida, feel that the citizens
of Sanford recognize the faithful serviee rendered by Mr Hill,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE OITY COMMISSION OF THE 0ITT OF SANFORD YLORIDA
that we commend Mr Hill for his faithful service to the citizenship of Sanford in his ser-
vice upon the City Commission
That we extend to Mr Hill our thanks for his service upon the Commission, and extend
to him our best wishes in his future endeavors."
Thereupon , the clerk announced that Mr Frank L Miller, the incoming Commissioner had
duly taken and assumed his oath of office as a member of the City Oo~ission, and that said
oath in writing signed by said Commissioner had been filed as part o~ the public records of
the City.
There being no fttrther business to come before this Commission as presently constituted
thereupon, W O Hill moved the meeting to be adjourned sine die, which motion duly prevailed.

The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in regular session at the
City Hall at Sanford Florida mt 2:30 P N on January 3, 1928
Present: Commissioners E F Housholder

City Attorney, George A DeCottes
E F Housholder was appointed temporary chairman of the meeting assembled. The Chairman
announeed that the first order of business would be the election of a Eayor to serve and hold
said office until the first Tuesday after the first Nonday in January 1929.
Thereupon, S O Chase made a motion, seco:mied by Frank L Niller, which prevailed, that
E F Housholder be elected and appointed ~ayor of the City of Sanford, Florida to hold office
until the first Tuesday after the first Nonday in January , 1929.
Thereupon the Clerk was instructed to a~uinister the oath of office to E F Housholder
as Nayor of the City of Sanford, Florida, and said oath was accordingly duly administered, the
said E F Housholder subscribing his name to the form of written oath prepared and said written
oath was filed as part of the public records of the City.
Thereupon, the said E F Housholder took the Chair as Chairman of the City Commission
as now constituted.
Frank L Niller made a motion , which was unanimously adopted, that $25,000.00 be deposited
as of this date in the Sanford Atlantic National Bank with proper security, and from henceforth
that all funds of the City of Sanford, Florida for deposit in authorized depositories of the
City, which said authorized depositories are The First National Bank of Sanford and Sanford
Atlantic National Bank, be deposited to the amount of two-thirds thereof in the First National
Bank and one-thimd thereo~ in the Sanford Atlantic National Bank, until the further order of
this Commission.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
