L R Philips City Attorney, George A DeCttoes and G W Spenc~ Mr George H Cairns of Gainesville, Florida came before/the Commission and applied for / appointment to the position of City Manager . After a due discussion of the m~_tter, Com- missioner S 0 Chase moved that the City Commission employ a City Manager to succeed Mr W B. Williams, resigned. Oommissioner F L Miller seconded the motion for the purpose of securing a vote. Commissioner S 0 Chase " F L Miller " E F Housholder Aye then nominated Mr. George H Cairns for City Manager, at a and resulted in the following vote: The Chairman then announced that the City Commission had appointed Mr George H 0aims City Manager to serve at the pleasure of the City Oommission at a salary of $400.00 per the salary name~ month. Mr 0aims being present accepted the appointment and agreed to serve at and to enter u~on the duties of the office not later than Febru~_ry 1st. 1928 Commissioner F L Miller introduced Resolution ~362 and moved its adoption. 0ommissionerl S 0 Chase seconded the motion and same was unanimously adopted in words and figures as follows:i RESOLUTION 362 WHEREAS, the Chase National Bank of 57 Broadway, New York City, have in their possess- ion the following certificates of indebtedness of the City of Sanford Florida to-wit: Certi£icate of indebtedness of the City of Sanford, Florida payable to the Seminole County Bank, dated November 8th 1926, $300,000.00 Less amount paid $100,000.00 , balance Certiricate of indebtedness of the City of Sanford Florida, payable to the Seminole County Bank, dated December 2?, 1926 in the sum of Certificate of indebtedness of the City of Sanford Florida, payable to the Seminole County Bank, dated December 2?th. 1926, in the sum of Total.
