Adjourned session of the 0ity Commission of the 0ity of Sanford, Florida Feb. 1, 1928
The 0ity Commission of the 0itt of Sanford Florida met in adjourned session at
City Hall in Sanford Florida on Wednesday February 1st, 1928 at Two O'Clock P M.

were duly sworn in and took office as of this date.
After a discussion and comparison of various gas bills rendered for the month of Jan.
1928, by the Utilities Department, with the gas bills for the month of December 1927.
0ommissioner Miller moved, same was seconded by Commissioner 0hase, and unanimously adopted,
that every gas bill for the month of January 1928, which shows over 50% increase over the
December 1927 bill, shall be given a lo% discount on the total January bill, and the 0ity
Clerk was so instructed.
Doctors R E Stevens, Charles P Vincent and J N Tolar appeared before the City CommissiOn
to request the employment of Dr. Frank K Held, Bacteriologist, as City Food Inspector.
After a discussion of the benefit to be derived by the 0ity through the employment of
Dr. Held, it was moved by Commissioner Miller, and seconded by Oommissioner Chase and unan-
imously adopted, that Dr. Frank K Held be employed as City Food Inspector, effective at
once, to take the place of Dr. 0 ~ Baker , a~d that Dr. Baker's salary continue until March
l, 1928. Dr. Baker appeared before the 0ommission and was notified of the action of the
Commission.
Dr. C P Vincent, 0ity Physician appeared Before the City 0ommission and reported ~hat
action he is taking with reference to the case of Fireman, 0 J Ohamblee, who claims to have
been humt in an accident in J~uly 1927, while on City duty.
0ity Manager 0aims, was instructed to investigate the water plant and see about
screening water intake and covering reservoir.
0ommissioner Miller moved that a one-page advertisement be place in the Salamagundy
(Sanford High School publication) at a cost of $20.00, and that same be charged to the Pub-
licity Fund. Motion seconded by 0ommissioner 0hase, and unanimously adopted.
Upon Motion by Commissioner Miller, seconded by 0ommissioner Chase and unanimously
adopted, the salary of City Clerk F S Lamson was raised to $3,000.00 per annum, effective
February 1, 1928.
