at the Oity Hall at Sanford Florida February 7th, 1928 at 20'01ock P M.

The meeting was called to order and the Clerk instructed to open and read all
remodelling and
received for/ alterations to the Fire Station; and the following bids were them
and there opened and read:

After due consideration, the bids were referred to the City Manager, with instruct-
ions to investigate and report his findings at the next meeting of the City Commission.
City Manager, Cairns was instructed to remove overhead light from in front of
house on Katie Street just west of Park Avenue, and to have the Florida Power & Light
Company installe i - 80 c.p. light overhead, on the corner of Park Avenue and Twenty-Second
Street and i - 80 c.p overhead light on the corner of Park Avenue and Twenty-third St.
The City Clerk submitted to the Commission, Receipts Nos. 5845 and 5846, issued by
the Jacksonville Branch, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, to the Sanford Atlantic National
Bank of Sanford, Fla., covering a total of $25,000.00 in bonds deposited as collateral
security for the City of Sanford, Florida, Deposits in the Sanford Atlantic National Bank,
Sanford, Florida, and same were approved, and ordered filed in the City Safe.
City Attorney, George A DeCottes reported verbally to the Commission that he has
investigated the claim of Mrs F K Smith and Mrs Emma F l~ittle as to damage to their
property in moving the Zachary house from the corner of First Street and French Ave.,
and that he sees no liability on the part of the City for any damage claimed by Mrs
Smith and Mrs Whittle, as such injury as was done to the shade trees, was done to property
belonging to the City located on the parkway in front of the respective properties s~r.d not
cn the property of the claimants.
City Clerk was instructed to notify Mrs Smith and Mrs Whittle of the decision ren-
dered by the City Attorney.
The City Comnission instructed the City Clerk that in view of the fact that the
need for repairs to the fire station, and consequent necessity for rental of temporary
quarters for the Fire Department while the Fire Station is being repaired, is a contingency,
the charge for rental of the temporary quarters is a correct charge against the Contingent Fund
and will be charged accordingly.
