031228-Regular SessionCITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, MINUTES Regular Session March 12, 1928 at 2 P M 19 28 The City Co~nission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in regular session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida ay 2 O'Clock P M March 12, 1928. City Attorney George A DeCottes. Minutes of an adjourned session of the City Commission on February 25th.,a regu- lar session of the City Commission on February 27th and an adjourned session of the City Commission on March 5th. 1928 were read and approved. Current bills and salaries as audited and vouchered by the Accounting Department were submitted , examined, and approved and the Clerk instructed to draw checks to pay same. Report from the Accounting Department showing receipts and disbursements, and showing the financial condition of the City was submitted and approved. Report from the City Manager for the month o£ February 1928 was submitted and ordered filed. L J Bolt appeared before the Commission requesting an appropriation of $250.00 to help defray the cost of an electric sign to advertise Sanford, and to be erected at the intersection where the road from DeLand c=osses West First Street. After considerable discussion, it was decided to defer any action until the next meeting of the Commission. Lit Fred Newsman appeared in the interest of an application for a building permit by ~[r & Mrs Victor Check to erect a filling station on the corner of French Ave. and Eleventh St. Same was referred to the City Planning Commission, and the Clerk instructed to immediately comn~unicate with said .Commission and request their recommendation. Bank statements from the First National Bank and the Sanford Atlantic National Bank for the month of February 1928 in all funds were submitted and approved. City Manager, Cairns submitted report as to the meat market situation in Sanford and requested the passage of an ordinance whereby there shall be an inspection made of all meats slaughtered locally in view of the fact that there is at present no inspection made whatever of locally ~laughtered meats. The City Clerk was instructed to communicate with the City Attorney and request that he draw up such an ordinance. It was unanimously ordered that Desk Sergeant D K McNab of the Police Department be appointed Deputy Clerk of the Court to be present at all sessions of the Municipal Court and perform the duties of the Clerk thereof. Bill from Clarence Smith for $1~92.50 being first paysent on his contract for remodelling the fire Station on Palmetto Ave, was submitted, approved and the Clerk in- structed to draw check for same. Bill from Elton J Moughton for $299.7~ for architectural services in connection with remodelling fire station on Palmetto Ave. was submitted, approved and the Clerk instructed to draw cheek for same. It was unanimously ordered that the following 192~ Tax Assessments be cancelled
