Mr F A Palmer, President of the Sanford Baseball Club, appeared with reference to a
baseball team during the 1928 season, and after considerable discussion, it was unanimously
ordered that the City return the Franchise to the Sanford Baseball Club, ~rom whom it was
obtained at the close of the 1926 season , and that all equipment remaining from last year
be turned over to the club, and that the club have the use of the basebzll bus during the
coming season. It w~s also ordered that the b21ance of the forfeit money from the 192y
season, ~mounting to $1420.00) together with $580.00) from the money coming to the City
from the sale of players at the close of the 192~ season, be left as forfeit money for the
£orthcoming season, it being understood and agreed that the total, amounting to $2000.00
will be returned to the City on or before October l, 1928.
On motion duly adopted , it was ordered that the services of Dr. Fr~k K HeSd, as
City Food Inspector, be discontinued, effective at once.
Chief of POlice R G Williams was instructed to reduce the personnel of the Police
Department to eight men, including himself, effective M~y l, 1928.
